You yourself might have or might have seen many people around you carrying fat on the face; it can be chin, cheeks, and jawline. When you have that extra weight on the face, your face looks more round and chubby, which obviously you want to get rid of for a defined appearance.

Losing fat in the face can be a challenge in its own, as it is not possible to reduce fat specifically from a particular area of your body. Because when you do full body workout, it loses weight from all over the body and if you do exercise for a specific area, it will bring impact on one or other part as well.

But, you can make your face look slimmer by doing some exercises which can help in toning your facial muscles and give it a more firm look. Here are some of the exercises to burn that extra fat on your face.

1. Blowing air in the balloon

If you want to reduce extra fat from your chin and cheeks, blowing air in the balloon is the best exercise that works effectively on solving your chubby cheeks and double chin issues. When you blow air in the balloon, it stretches the neck and facial muscles and gives a natural look to your face, which leaves it leaner.

How to do:

  • Simply sit on a chair with a straight back and head little tilted above towards the ceiling.
  • Take a balloon and start blowing air for at least 10 seconds.
  • Relax and do it again several times.
  • Repeat this exercise 3 times a day.

2. Lips pull yoga

It is a common exercise which is used to lose face on your face using yoga. It works great on your cheek muscles when you stretch your lips. It helps in making your cheeks look toned and younger.

How to do:

  • Simply, leave your lower lip and push your lower jaw towards out in such a way that you feel stretching on your cheeks.

  • You have to stay in the same position for around 10 seconds.

  • Relax and do it again for 10-15 times.

3. Fish Face exercise

This exercise helps in toning your cheeks and gives you the defined face you need. It is considered as the popular way for burning extra fat on the face quickly. Another name of this exercise is, ‘Smiling fish face’ exercise. You will feel its results on your cheeks after a couple of times of doing it.

How to do:

  • Pull both your cheeks and lips inside to get the fish lips effects. Also, try to keep your face smiling while performing this exercise.

  • You require staying in the same position for 5-8 seconds.

  • Relax and repeat it for 10 minutes.

4. Smile

Many of you might have noticed several times that when you laugh so much you feel like your face is hurting, you feel a slight pain in your cheeks and jaws. It is so as a result of stretching of your facial muscles. Due to this reason, smiling helps a lot in losing your face fat. It is one of the best exercises to tighten and tone your face muscles. Along with working effectively on your facial muscles, it also helps in enhancing your mental health.

How to do:

Nothing special is required for this exercise, just smile as much as you can. Hold a smile while showing your teeth for several seconds at a time. Whether you are at home or dealing with a bad day at your office, you can do this exercise and lift your mood and facial muscles simultaneously.

5. X-O exercise

It is another exercise which helps you to learn how to lose face fat in a simple way. Pronouncing X-O involves your chin, cheeks, and jaws which stretch your face muscles and contract them to their limit. Actually, when you pronounce X-O, your jaws move in two different ways while stretching the muscles. It helps in making your jaws stronger and in reducing fat on the face. This exercise can be performed at any time even when you are at work.

How to do:

  • Speak X-O one after other for at least 10-15 times.

  • Take a break and repeat it 3-4 times.

  • Try this exercise anytime and anywhere.

6. Chewing a gum

Yes, you have heard right that chewing a gum can also contribute to making your face look visibly slimmer. It actually works by toning your jaw and cheek muscles. Also, it is advisable to chew sugar-free gum.

How to do:

  • Take a gum and chew it as you normally do.

  • Do this for about 15-20 minutes.

  • Repeat it 2-3 times a day.

  • It would be better if you do this exercise after meals.


There are plenty of exercises that help you to find the perfect solution for how to lose face fat in a natural way.

No matter what exercise you choose for losing the extra fat on your face, but all of these also helps in increasing blood circulation to the face, which in turn gives healthy and glowing face.

In addition, you must also concentrate on a healthy diet, drinking lots of water and getting enough sleep. When you follow all these methods together, you will be surprised by the quick desired results.
