Bananas are a significant source of potassium, a mineral that is necessary for the healthy functioning of our bodies. Without healthy levels of potassium in our bodies we can become sick. According to WiseGeek.com, potassium "maintains the water and acid balance in blood and tissue cells, assists in muscle building, and transmits electrical signals between cells and nerves." Based on this evaluation, I would definitely say that bananas are good for your health.
