What if I slept 11 hours and I still feel sleepy and tired?
Is there anything wrong with me? Any suggestions how to solve this?
Does this happen every day or just one day? If it happens every day, ur body is trying to make u lazy. Doing more sports gives new energy to your muscles and will help u work more. If u are still facing problem, u are lacking iron in the body. If u have insurance see a doctor, if not take multi-vitamin tablets and drink lots of water. Liver meat has lot of iron. There will also be some vegetables with lots of iron content.
But if has happened just for one day, ur body says u need more rest. :-)
This is actually pretty natural, because as emdi said, the more you sleep the more your body will be lazy when you wake up. It's all in the balane an how much you sleep that can make a difference between you waking up energized or tired.
It's probably individual specific. But my immediate question is: what time of the day do you go to sleep? If you stay late and go to bed like as early as 1:30 in the morning, then no matter how many hours of sleep you've had, you might feel tired most of the time; suppose you go to bed at about 10PM, and get up at 6AM, you would feel very well rested.Otherwise time to see your doctor for a full checkup. If you are vitamin D deficient, you may see symptoms like tired, sleepy and depressed, then you do need to specifically supplement vitamin D, but not for too long. If you take supplements, you should not take just one type, because your body has to be balanced, taking one particular vitamin for a longer period of time may cause more trouble than good, so you might want to take balanced nutritional vitamins. If nothing is wrong, from a doctor's view, then vitamins can be worth to try. But you need to know which ones to take, not all supplements are made equal. Good luck, keep us posted if you want
This site has good information on food that are high in iron which maybe the cause of your problem. http://www.fatfreekitchen.com/nutrition/iron.html
I suffer from the same problem of sleeping long hours with out feeling any results and my iron is not low. I take a daily vitamin and I exercise regularly during the week and do this has made a dramatic change.
Kindest Regards,
Tony S.
You're body is tired from having too much sleep. People think that when their body is asleep it does nothing but actually, your body is still working and if you get too much sleep then your body is also doing work.
The other thing is that if you're always tired, you could be getting diabetes. Check with your doctor.
Your are having a sleep deficit. You have not been sleeping well may be for weeks, months or years.
What you need to do is to continue sleeping as much as your body want you to sleep. May be continue sleeping at 11 hours daily. Find time to sleep more on weekends or during lunch breaks. Avoid all stimulants including caffeine. Do this for several weeks or months. There will come a time where you will not be sleepy or tired anymore. When you get here your mind and body will be operating at your best.
Then your concentration will improve, you may also stop gaining weight. Your cognitive skill, intelligence, reaction time and creativity will actually improve. Your heart and other bodily functions will also improve.
Then sleep as you need, though you may not need as much as 11 hours daily.
Stop going back to taking stimulants, and other things that will distract you from normal sleeping habits.
I have experienced this many times in the past and these measures always works. My recommendations are also supported by recent findings by the scientific community.
You may be experiencing the results of sleep apnea "or" it may be age related. As we get older, our metabolism slows down and tire very easily. I am 57 now and find myself getting more tired as I am getting older. Most of my life I was used to sleeping 3 to 6 hours daily and now find that this is not sufficient. From your picture you don't seem too old so I'd check into the sleep apnea.
I had this problem and it turned out to be low blood pressure. In men this can also be caused by low iron. Recommend to see a doctor. Their are many variables that need to be found out to determine the cause.

Is Sleeping just a Waste of Time? Many people view normal sleeping for, say 8 hours daily, as mere waste of time. Spending the whole night at computer and sending messages across social media sites that has little work value does not appear a waste of time at all to them!!
