When was the last time you had a good laugh?
In our world today, we see all the striff and turmoil around us that we become like stone, harden. Laughter has always been good medicine. When was the last time you laughed, not chuckled or gave a "ha ha", but a good hearty laugh?
When I watched the Prank vs Prank episode on You Tube, when Jesse put that fake head in his girlfriend's bed in the morning and then woke her up with a stick. That was hillarious!
Watching my children play silly in the yard and make their own plays. They were telling each other jokes and pretending they were comedians. It was the funniest thing we have seen in awhile and their jokes were adorable.
I remember laughing really hard when two little girls, 3 and 5 were discussing boys and how silly they where. They were so serious as if they had all these experiences behind them. If they only knew!
I had good laugh with a classmate on FaceBook about a month ago. He always manages to look at the funny side of things and we were slinging a topic back and forth and the more we did it the more we laughed! I started laughing so hard that I started in with a coughing spell. Sex was the topic! I won't say what the conversation was!
Though we all could use a good laugh, glad you left the details to the imagination! I am sure it would of been one of those, "you had to be there" moment! Thanks for sharing!
Sometimes those back and forth discussions can be gut-splitting funny when they get rolling!
Just a note, My school friend said to me "it must be hard to spend so much time appart. I said yes, but thank God for menopause, he said, "why areyou having a hard time with it,I said no, he is the one stuck inmenopause,I justzoomed right through it
It is amazing, that you would ask that question, of me, today. Because, actually, I did have a great laugh today. A lawyer friend of mine, named Blake, was taking to me about our nonprofit operation, and how we was anxious to learn Japanese Nature farming, this summer, from me, and our other friend, Wade. I told him that Wade was a follower, primarily, of one Japanese Nature farmer, and that I was, primarily, a follower of the other. I told him, that, even though he was a friend of Wade's and a friend of mine, he was going to have to make a choice, which methodology he would be mastering, either mine, or Wade's.
I quoted Matthew 6:24 King James Verson (KJV) "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
Both, Blake and I, had a very good laugh. He said, "Hell Doc, you are serious about these Nature Farming methodologies.
Thank you "backporchstories."
Regards,
Dr. Haddox
It's funny you ask this question - I mean this in a good way. We get so busy in our lives that I, for once, don't even realize there is something like laughter. Life is like a machine. You wake up in the morning, do the morning routine, dress up, go to work, come home, make dinner, do dishes, watch the news and then go to bed. Where is time for laughter? And, when I do get a chance to laugh, especially when someone cracks a joke, I instantly realize what that short bout of laughter can do. Such is life.
I have very hearty laughs everyday with my boyfriend. Your question gives me a reminder of how lucky I am.
Enjoy him! There is no such thing as too much laughter!
Yesterday when I recounted a question someone asked on another website to a friend and we shared possible responses: "Yesterday i were walking around the house naked as allways, when my damn dog jumps up and bites my balls, it hurt like hell, and i slapped the dog. But now it wont talk to me anymore, why is that?" After a while, ya' just gotta laugh. It all becomes just too absurd.
Almost every day one of the dogs pounces with his paws at my husband vunerable spot! Good one!
Better read my hub about how to teach your dog not to jump! ; )
We have eight dogs, four of which are less than a year and a half old. I find sometimes it is easy to train and sometimes I find some of them stubborn....I will read that one for sure!
I have not had a good laugh in years. My last belly roll laugh occurred when my daughter (novice barber in the making), convinced my nephew he could save a buck if she cut his hair. What a terrible sight he made sitting with a towel draped around his shoulders with an uneven haircut! It looked like a bird had pecked spots into his scalp. They were both college age at the time and though I knew it was wrong, I laughed so hard, I nearly choked. All ended well though. My nephew reluctantly agree to let her shave him bald to resolve the issue. The next day he showed up for work and his female colleagues loved his new look. He's shaved his head bald ever since. Strange, but even now, the memory still brings a chuckle.
This morning, as talked with God in prayer and thought about how blessed I am and what He has done for my family.
This is so sad but on Sunday nights my hubby and I get to watch tv shows together. While flipping channels he passed this love scene that was so fake we looked at each other and busted out laughing. I'm smiling just thinking about it .... He's truely my best friend !! Happy channel surfing ....
My husband and I lately have been watching retro tv....that is often good for a laugh or two!
One of my husbands favorite....I tend to favor Jerry Lewis movies....like Cinderfella...laughed my butt off over that one!
ALWAYS a good laugh with the Stooges! What a classic!
I have a few Stooges DVDs too. My friends laugh when they see them in my bookcase between the works of Homer and Milton. Yet, whenever I feel down, they brighten my day in a way words fail to explain.
Its a difficult question to answer and while answering it raises a question on state of affairs. I do not remember when I had a good laugh.. That is pretty alarming and I must do something about it. Thanx for the trigger..
Often we forget how good it feels....you are welcome.
gary dube....find what makes you laugh! It is important to your mental, physical and emotional health! Try comedy clubs, sitcoms, or go to the zoo! Animals always do funny things Much happiness, my friend!
Probably everyday. I try to be as happy and cheery as possible in order to cheer up others.
What a wonderful life you have! If you laugh everyday, you are a successful person (in my opinion)
WHAT A GREAT QUESTION! Kudos, backporchstories! Just tonight, my female cat (a solid white cat) loves to go outside on our porch which isn't screened in. Well, with summer coming, when I let her out, she brings in palmetto bugs to play with at night.
After an hour of meowing to go outside, and my calmly telling her no, she tried a different approach. She hid behind the verticals and her brother (a solid black cat) was sitting next to them.
My husband and I belly laughed when the desperate meows were coming from behind the blinds as if she was trying to get us to think HE was begging to go out. Then she peeked through to see if we were looking.
She's so manipulative (and smart). But it was so funny to watch her try to trick us!
I realize this probably isn't a funny story to most, but we thoroughly enjoyed the laugh.
I have a few cats too. They are halarious!
Just a few seconds ago. A rude reader commented that he was sick of my article. I told him that if he were sick he should go somewhere else and see a doctor, for I couldn't help him.
Excellant. He tried to make it your problem, but really it is his!

When was the last time you had a good laugh? What happened?Recently I spent some time helping friends on their farm during lambing. The antics of those wee lambs was priceless.
