What can cause a person to have bad thoughts on a regular basis?
Is there something that can cause a person to have negative bad thoughts on a regular basis. Thoughts of people dying, being robbed, funerals, etc. Every other thing about him is normal. Just bad thoughts that do not go away and happen daily. So why?
it could be that the person has had a lot of bad things happen to them so thinking negatively is natural. they might have seen way too many bad things so when ever they are awake, they expect something bad to happen.
depression and anxiety can cause this. Also, what we focus on too much or resist too much will persist. In meditation, we are taught to learn to detach a bit and let our thoughts float by, rather than grabbing onto them if that makes sense. If you are focused on anxiety or a thought that evokes a negative response and you shove it away without addressing the cause of the anxiety - the anxiety persists. At the same time if the thought comes up and you keep indulging it and focusing on how many negative thoughts you are having etc. they continue to come up. The best thing people with anxiety (and I've been there) can do is learn to retrain the brain so to speak. When something horrible comes to mind, you look at it for just a moment and ask is this rational? or is it anxiety or fear?
An example, my son was in a bus crash a couple of months ago. My current anxiety is about school starting again and him getting on a bus. I have horrible thoughts about it, but when they come up - I stop. I look at the thought long enough to acknowledge it only and then release it and consciously focus on what I DO want or what is positive - say gratitude for the fact he survived a very dire crash and is healing well.
We all have anxiety at times, if there has been a traumatic event etc. Other times, some people just hold onto that anxiety and it never seems to leave. Typically it's a result of not addressing the real fear, acknowledging it and then releasing it consciously.
There are multiple reasons behind negative/ bad thoughts on regular basis!...but there are 5 main factors that influence the thoughts of different people differently , they are-
1). Mishappenings/Tragedy - ex: death, accident in family, friends or close ones
2) Health problems and anxiety /Fear
3) Life style- noisy, poluted, inhygenic conditions of living
4) Lack of Spirituality/ faith
5) Mawkish Nature
Like some have already stated..Not have a religious background, their upbringing, something negative has happen to them, and I think all these things can go hand in hand.
Everyone has negative thoughts at times. What do you do when these thoughts won't go away? See how faith brings these intrusive thoughts under submission. read more
You are the product of your past, your upbringing, custom, beliefs, supertition, your religion, education, invironments, people you interact with and many more. These are all deposited and embedded in your brain as memories that you could not even remember. So every time you think now, you think based on what's been set in the past. Unless you reprogram it now it persist no matter what and you bring them today in all your activities, choices and decisions. You see our brain has memory bank so just like a tape recorder if you want to change what was recorded you would erase it and record anew. However the brain is more complicated than the tape recorder, your got to see an expert like a psycho therapist or a hyptonist to solve your problem. Better if you know self hypnosis use it because of a more flexible control over yourself. Now there are a lot products like subliminal disc with embedded suggestions in order to a dramatic result past. You see hypnosis is just a mere physcology of suggestion and everyday politicians,, advertisers etc. The hypnotist really no has power over anyone and it the subject that give his or her permission to the suggestions. You see there's no such thing as mind power only the person who is thinking has.
Yes - there is something that can cause negative thoughts on a regular basis: simply you and your fears.
This might sound hard to you. So let me try to explain what I want to explain to you.
For some reason you picked up the thoughts of people around you, may be from your parents, relatives, friends or whoever who told you that the world is full of unpleasant events like death, robbing, funerals etc. and you subconsciously mind accepted this as 'true'. Now your thoughts are circling around these arguments as you feared them.
Try for yourself to get a different view and with that different thoughts: Death takes part of our life. The person who's gone forever has fulfilled his task on earth. We know that there is no law which will give us an eternal life.
"Being robbed" - you should feel sorry for this person, unable to understand that steeling does not mean a respectful together. Instead of judging him/her try to see him/her on a lower level of education and therefore he/she cannot be punished. Send him/her love and all your positive thoughts to stop steeling.
I don't think it happens overnight. I think months of continual depression, anger or a bout of bad luck can cause a person to switch their thoughts from those of optimism to those of constant pessimism. It also depends on the company you keep. Set your standards high and only develop relationships with those who actually have your back...rather than those who stab you in the back!!
