I wake up at 0420 almost every morning. Why would this be?
My alarm is set for 0530.
I can think of a few possibilities. In Chinese medicine, waking up early is a sign of excess energy. 4:20am is related to the lung meridian. Perhaps you ahve sleep apnea, allergies, sinusitis, asthma, or some other lung-related or breathing related condition that needs attention.
If you wet through daylight savings time or another time zone change, your body might not have adjusted. Your body might think it is waking up at 5:30.
Are you startled awake? Maybe a truck or train passes at that hour, and you don't hear it, but it wakes you.
I hope you work it out. If not, get up early and enjoy the quiet time of day.
Nothing to startle me awake. Even before the time change I still did it. No breathing problems. ???????
You might try some experiments. Remove all electronics from your bedroom. Or sleep in a different room for a few nights, or at a friends house, or a hotel. Maybe you can isolate the issue.
Thanks Sid. I really can not remove all electronics as I must get up at 0530 for work. I have tried sleeping in another room to no avail.
I have the same problem but at different times. Whenever I wake up in the night my clock says it is 2:22 or 3:33. It's always random times but the numbers are always the same. Even when I am awake this happens, if I ever go into my bedroom where I have a digital clock the numbers are always the same. Even when I started writing this answer to your question the time on my laptop showed 01:11. Can't work it out but it is very strange. It started at the beginning of the year.
What a coincidence as I too wake up at that time to pass urine every morning. It is kinda strange but happens daily.
What I am trying to do it changing my routine in the night and see what happens next.
Hey! I had this problem and you know what? The water was being turned on right around 4:00 in the morning. I remember to turn the tap off before going to bed now.
i sleep at 9pm daily and wake up suddenly at 12am, 3am and 5am. Seems that my brain is trying to adjust my new sleeping routine. Previously, i sleep 3am and wake up at 1pm. !!!
Numbers can be very magical. There may be a significance to those hours relating to your life. Or, as someone else stated, maybe there is something in your place that either starts up a motor, like an icebox, or shuts one off and that break in noise is noted in your sleeping mind. This next comment I can not help but say....maybe the world is telling you it is time to wake and bake!!!!!! Sorry, couldn't resist that one!

I say the 4 phrases every morning and almost during all the time when I remember but the minute...work starts pouring in I forget and start to lose my cool and my subordinates keep silent which eventually makes me feel embarassed after that. How do I keep peace with my work?
