What is the best way to lower one's bad cholesterol levels?
I know Lipitor and its generic version is often a doctors first option. I am curious what others have done to lower ones bad cholesterol levels. I am curious what people's best tips are. Thank you!
I lowered mine by eating oatmeal, and taking garlic tablets. Statin drugs nearly put me in the hospital with side effects.

I had triglycerides near 500 only 2 years ago. I now have them around 250 I still eat food I'm not supposed to like fried chicken and French fries I just massively cut back and made them more of a every so often rather than a regular feature of my diet. I also make sure I walk or do something like that everyday.

Oats , mushrooms, spinach , broccoli work great in reducing level of bad cholesterol. Try having diluted apple cider vinegar daily after getting up in morning ( 1 tsp apple cider vinegar in 1 cup water) this works really well in reducing cholesterol. Also the key to reducing bad cholesterol is healthy diet combined with proper work out.

My physician reviewed my current diet of toxic waste and suggested, "If it tastes good, spit it out!" Most of my exercise is accomplished with a knife and fork, so I've increased alternate exercise levels. I've learned the statin medications (Atorvastatin, Pravastatin, Rosuvastatin) have an unpleasant side-effect of diarrhea for me. I've discussed it with my doctor and he understands why I prefer not to take these prescriptions, but underscores the necessity to modify my diet.
I am taking Arvast-F 10/67 tablet which contains rosuvastatin 10 mg and fenofibrate 67 mg. as per my Doctor's prescription (for controlling my bad cholesterol). Besides these, some walking exercise, eating fibrous food like broken wheat recipes and less carbohydrate fruits like watermelon. lemon and lime are good for health.

We've had great success with using ground flax seed, and yes, I've written about it, but I will soon find out if chia seed does the trick as well as flax.

Good diet consists of the absence of refined food, and trans-fat that can be found in margarine, processed vegetable oil, and refined foods such as pastries that contain refined vegetable oil; and consumption of a wide variety of Plant based foods, (rainbow colours of fruits and vegetables).
