Selfishness is healthy. When will people start to view selfishness positively, even embracing it
instead of viewing it negatively? Isn't selfishness integral to happiness & that being selfish is a normal part of being human? Don't people want the best for themselves? Conversely, what is so great about self-sacrifice when the end result is enabling people to become dependent & entitled, always expecting & wanting you to rescue/help them in one form or another?
And capitalism channels that selfishness to productive means, instead of destructive ones.
One of the ironies of liberalism is that they say everyone should do their own thing, then say that government should force people to pay for other people's pet projects (art, propaganda) and others consequences (their STD treatment, their illegitimate children).
If you want to say everyone should go libertarian, you can have the freedom to act when you take on the responsibility for the cost of the consequences. But don't say you have freedom to do what you want and then demand I pay for it.
