      Greed - the desire for what we don't have - is part of human nature and completely normal.  Thank goodness, or we would never advance to anything better.

      Why are YOU concerned about how other people are?  If one tends to his/her affairs, one wouldn't have time to be concerned about other people's characteristics or affairs!  As long as they aren't harming you & others, WHAT DO YOU CARE?

                  There are people who are civilized, cultivated, & evolved.  They are constantly improving themselves educationally, socioeconomically, & spiritually.  Then there are others who are mired in negative situations such as poverty.  They feel that they are the victims of their environment but they refuse to improve &/or advance themselves one iota.  However, these people constantly complain about their negative situation, never acknowledging that THEY put THEMSELVES in such situations.

   Here is how greed contributes to the worsening of life on earth. Well, anyone can provide a multitude of ways. A multitude!
   
   Mine:
   A grossly out of proportion mansion is being built one house away from me. Every single morning including Sat.s, its hammer hammer, drill drill, noise noise all day. Of course, that is bad for me now, but in the long run this monstrosity which is being built in a modest, middle class neighborhood will be an eyesore and out of proportion. It will be a million-dollar home in a modest middle-class location. It will not be ascetically pleasing and it will be disruptive in its appearance and did I mention ... really irritating!
   Why did the city planners let this happen? (I'm sure many city codes are being broken, such as five feet, not two, from the outside perimeters, etc.) Greed.
   Why the owner is building a two story, ten foot high ceiling mansion in a small suburban neighborhood: Greed.
   Bah!

   Again, there isn't such a thing as greed.  Greed is what the poorer, less educated, & less successful classes use to describe the more affluent, more educated, & highly successful.  If you can, EARN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.  Wealth means having a better life, more myriad choices & opportunities.  Wealth means owning life.  Wealth is calling the shots & MAKING the rules.  Wealth is the ULTIMATE HIGH!

      It's a denial that greed exists. But in its criminal element, it IS detrimental.
      Think of theft.
      Think of gluttony.
      Think of murder.
      Of course, we can all agree that this sort of greed probably stems from a mental disorder. Think of the famous outlaws such as Billy the Kid ...
      And of course, should not be glorified, which Gm is not doing.
      
      She is merely advocating abundance-consciousness, as opposed to poverty-consciousness. In which case, I believe we should cut her some slack.
      
      Also, it gets tiresome to hear people complain that they are in poverty and can't get out of it.
      
      Yes you can!

         I knew a Mary Kay lady once. She said money doesn't buy everything, but it does get you downtown where everything is.
         
         Money is great. I'll admit. But, too much emphasis on it easily causes one to neglect more important things, which appear to cause regret in later years.

            I disagree.  If one concentrate on the other things, that precludes success.  Other things AREN'T important as money. Other things don't pay the rent, put food on the table, pay medical bills, or put a roof over one's head. Such a belief causes socioeconomic impoverishment in the later years. If one doesn't prepare for the future, the future oftentimes overwhelms him/her socioeconomically to the point of NO RETURN.  I know people who didn't prepare educationally nor socioeconomically, concentrating on fun & relationships, now they are living from hand to elbow, worrying about their bills, if they will put food on their table, paying their bills, wondering where they will live as their rent escalates, or if they will be...…..homeless living under the bridge or at the mercy of others. NO THANKS, I will always be obsessed with the socioeconomic condition.  I wish I was even MORE OBSESSED SOCIOECONOMICALLY...……..I would be wealthy instead of comfortably middle class...……….. That is MY ONLY REGRET...……….THAT I AM NOT SOCIOECONOMICALLY WEALTHY.    There is NO SUCH THING as OVEREMPHASIS on money.  Talk to any homeless or down& out person, they will TELL YOU A DIFFERENT STORY...………...
