Everyone knows that losing weight is a difficult process; there are many things one has to do to be able to lose weight and become healthy. Excessive weight is always bad for the body, not only does it make one slow and lazy but it affects the body in negative ways and can cause many dangerous disease related to excessive weight.

 

But here is the good news. There are some foods that will help you to lose weight, I know it sounds strange but it sure is true. Most weight loss programs concentrate on exercise and dieting, here are some tips that will tell you to eat certain foods because they will help you lose weight. As you know the more calories you burn the more weight you will lose.

 

Our body is like a machine, as it grows old, the different systems running the body start to slow down, the digestive system is part of the same process and with age when the digestive system starts to slow down, and our metabolic rate also goes down. When this happens we start to gain weight, which is why most people start gaining excessive weight during their middle ages. The special foods listed in this article are a good way to boosting the metabolic rate of the body, therefore read along and make the following foods a part of your daily diet. This will enable you to boost your metabolism in essence making you burn up calories at a faster rate and helping you achieve your weight loss goals.  

Green Tea or Lemon Grass Tea

 

Green tea and lemon grass tea is known to many as something that helps and has helped thousands of people lose unwanted weight. Make it part of your daily diet, start the morning with a refreshing cup of green tea. Having green tea after meals helps digest the food faster and burn up unwanted calories. Green tea has special natural chemicals which help with the weight loss process, which is why you will notice that green tea is an essential part of most weight loss programs in the market.

Peanut Butter

 

I am aware that butter is a major part of every human being’s diet, but avoiding butter a food rich in fat will definitely help you keep your weight in check.  Instead have peanut butter and try to make it a part of your diet. It is a good replacement for ordinary butter, it is rich in protein and fiber, both active ingredients of any weigh loss program. Protein present in peanut butter will help you gain muscle and burn fat while the fiber in peanut butter helps suppress your appetite and thus enable you to not feel hungry all the time. You can make it a part of your breakfast by combining it with wholegrain wheat.

Almonds are recommended as part of the foods that help you lose weight for the simple fact that they are rich in Fatty acids and Protein. Fatty acids are the “good fats” that supply our body with nutrients and help us to lose weight, while protein helps by building muscle mass and helping burn unwanted fat. There are two types of fats, bad fats and good fats, the fats in almonds are the good type and thus they help in burning fat and boosting our metabolic rates.

Lentils

Lentils are very good food to help you get essential proteins, amino acids, minerals and dietary fibers, without the fat. Health experts rate lentils as one of the five healthiest foods to have. Lentils should be a part of every diet to help achieve weight loss goals.

Beans and Chickpeas

 

How long one can suppress hunger is a big factor in controlling our weight. One of the biggest reasons for excessive weight gain is excessive eating. Foods rich in fiber help us suppress our urge to eat unnecessarily, beans and chickpeas are rich in fiber and thus keep us from getting hungry for a long time. This is one part of the diet that will help you control and lose your weight.

 

Although dieting and exercise play an important role in weight control and weight loss. Having the right foods will make it easier to achieve your weight loss goals and stay healthy.       I knew about the green tea. I love lentils and beans. I could eat them every day. It's the cupcakes I've got to stay away from. Been on a little tangent since February! I vow to do better!
