Everyone wants healthy hair. We all know that diet will affect the appearance of skin, nails, and hair. So what are the best foods to grow hair long and strong? Simply eating a healthy diet will give you nice shiny hair. But there are “super foods” that are especially beneficial to your tresses.

Avocado

Avocados are a delicious source of healthy fats. They are a hair “super food“. Avocados contain biotin which is great for growing healthy hair. In fact a major sign of biotin deficiency is hair loss. Biotin helps hair to grow thicker and stronger. Avocados contain essential fats that are good for your heart. you can also apply avocado directly to hair for a luxurious hair mask.

Eggs

Eggs are the perfect food for growing healthy hair. Eggs are high in protein which is essential for great hair. Hair is made of a protein like substance know as keratin. Eggs contain high amounts of sulfur, which is said aid in hair growth. Many people report that their hair grows faster after adding eggs to their diet.

Oranges, or any food high in vitamin C, promotes healthy hair growth. Vitamin C helps produce collagen, A necessary component of healthy skin. Healthy skin produces beautiful hair.

Garbanzo beans

Garbanzo beans are full of vitamin B6. B vitamins prevent excess shedding. B6 helps hair grow strong and healthy. Along with being a great source of fiber garbanzo beans are packed with protein.

Peanut Butter

Peanut butter is a food high in zinc. Zinc aides in skin repair. It’s great for hair too. Peanut butter is high in protein and healthy fats.

Chicken

Chicken is an excellent source of protein. Animal proteins are absorbed better by the body. Hair loss is a major sign of protein deficiency. So if your hair is thinning or falling out, make sure your eating enough protein rich foods. Having adequate amounts of protein in your diet is necessary for healthy hair.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is high in the nutrients folate and biotin. These are other types of B vitamins. B vitamins will grow your hair faster and longer. The actual hair strands will be stronger, as a result .

Bananas

Bananas are a source of B 6. Surprisingly, they also are sources of protein as well.Eating foods like these will help your hair reach its maximum growth potential.

Vitamins

There are no short cuts when it comes to health. Eating healthy will produce results. You will look like what you eat. If you eat like crap you hair, skin, and nails will look bad. I‘m not against supplements. But most of they time if you eat a well balanced diet you won’t need them.

*Always consult your doctor before taking vitamins. More is not always better. Excessive amounts of certain vitamins can be dangerous.
