These heart healthy recipes can lower your blood cholesterol in 60 days

Heart-healthy recipes to lower cholesterol are easy to cook, and they reduce LDL fast. The diet and exercise that is recommended by my doctor to lower my high blood cholesterol have helped me in lowering my LDL and triglycerides considerably within 2.5 months. The diet includes foods that contain high amounts of soluble fiber, omega three fatty acids, phytosterols, reducing oil intake and avoiding foods that contain saturated fatty acids, trans fats, refined carbohydrates.

Two more important factors helped me in reducing my LDL and triglycerides levels. They are a 30-minute walk around the block and reducing 10-15 pounds of weight.

I have lowered my cholesterol with diet and exercise within 2.5 months. You can reduce your blood cholesterol in the same way as I did.

High Soluble Fiber Food Recipes to Lower Cholesterol

My recipes to lower cholesterol contain mostly soluble fiber foods. Soluble fiber absorbs cholesterol from intestine like sponge and removes it from the body. Foods that are rich in soluble fiber are oat meal, oat bran, potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, garlic, carrots, turnips, mustard green, green beans, lentils, black eyed peas, apples, asian pears, oranges, guava, mangoes, okra, egg plant and cauliflower.

Breakfast: Oatmeal cereal with low fat or nonfat milk is tasty and best for breakfast. It contains high amounts of soluble fiber. You can also eat two boiled eggs without egg yolk.

Oat Meal Recipe:

3/4 cup of non fat milk

1/4 cup of Quakers quick cooking oats

1/8 teaspoon cinnamon ground

I teaspoon sugar (its better to avoid sugar)

A pinch of salt

Combine everything together and boil. Stirrer for 2-3 minutes.

Snack: Try to eat vegetables and fruits that contain a lot of soluble fiber. Sweet potatoes are a good source of soluble fibers and they are easy to bake. But if you are diabetic then follow your doctor's recommended diet.

Baked sweet potatoes recipe:

Wrap sweet potatoes in a foil and bake for 30-45 minutes until they become soft.

Black Eyed Peas recipe:

2 cups black eyed peas - soak for 2 hours

1 teaspoon red chilies

2 teaspoon salt

1 green chili- cut in to small pieces

1 medium size onion

6-8 tablespoons of canola oil

Boil black eyed peas with 2 teaspoons of salt for 15-20 minutes until they are soft. Drain water. Take 6-8 tablespoons of canola oil in a fry pan. Add sliced onions and fry for 2-3 minutes (do not let them turn brown). Add red chilies, green chilies and salt if needed. Black eyed beans are ready to eat. Put some lemon Juice before you eat.

Lunch and Dinner: Use whole wheat flour and brown rice instead of all purpose flour and white rice respectively. Replace red meat with chicken white meat, turkey and fish. Try to eat fish 1-2 times per week. I usually eat Indian style home made bread called roti.

Home made flat bread recipe (Roti)

I use 1 cup gold medal whole wheat flour plus 1/4 of oat bran and kneed it with hands and then make 4-5 balls and make it flat with rolling pin. You can eat this flat bread with any thing like cooked red lentils, spinach, chicken or whatever you have cooked for the day.

Foods that are rich in unsaturated fatty acids and Omega 3 fatty acids are fish, olive oil, and nuts. Fish is easy to bake and substituting fish with red meat 1-2 times per week in recipes to lower cholesterol can reduce cholesterol fast.

There are many websites that sells heart heathy recipes that I use to cook my low fat low cholesterol foods. I always use canola oil in my cooking because olive oil becomes converted to saturated fat during cooking. Olive oil when uncooked is best to reduce cholesterol and you can add one teaspoon of olive oil on salad.

You can also talk to your doctor for Omega 3 Supplements in order to reduce your cholesterol fast.

      Minimizing the amount of processed food I eat, focusing on fresh food for each meal, and eating apples and nuts as snacks (instead of cookies) makes a BIG difference in my blood results. I love oatmeal for breakfast in the winter - I cook it overnight in the slow cooker! Great lens :)
