I've suffered from lack of energy dating back to my sophmore year in high school when I came down with a bad case of mononucleosis. This wasn't typical mono: I was bedridden for three months! And the oft-reported "lingring mono tiredness" never totally went away. Never, that is, until I came up with this breakfast smooothie that tastes pretty darn good and has given me energy to spare.
Now, instead of watching TV after 10 hours or so of work, I call up a friend to play several sets of tennis. Often we follow that with bicycling or walking. The transformation in the way I feel has been nothing short of incredible! And I'm not sure if it's the extra exercise, the drink itself, or both, but my weight has returned to what I consider normal after years of watching the number on the scale slowly increase except for short "diet declines"! Diet no more, this smoothie will change your entire lifestyle!
Try this for three months and I'll be shocked if you aren't feeling the same. Most likely you'll start feeling a difference in just two to three weeks!You'll need a blender powerful enough to grind ice cubes, vitamins and such:
Step 1: Put 1 flavored yogurt cup in the blender. I'm talking the small Yoplait 6 oz. size, store brand, whatever. Choose orange, vanilla...the choices are many and each will affect the taste dramatically. Experiment!
Step 2: Pour some milk in the yogurt cup and swish it a bit to get all the remaing yogurt. Dump it in the blender.
Step 3: Add about 2-4 drops of honey. Local honey would be the best choice if you have allergies as it will build your immune system against local pollen. But the medicinal benefits are well documented so any honey is better than no honey, honey.
Step 4: Add 1 banana
Step 5: Peel an apple. Core it. Drop it in there, baby! If you're a guy then "baby" = "man" okay?
Step 6: Add about 2-6 small ice cubes. No calories so add 20 if you like, but then prepare for one massive brain freeze!
Step 7: Take two capsules of Ghinko Biloba, 120 mg each, and twist them open, adding the contents. Toss the plastic capsules in the garbage. This is an all natural product that really makes your brain neurons fire. It's marketed to the elderly as a memory enhancer but about anyone over the age of eighteen can benefit from it, mainly in terms of gaining energy and clarity of thought. Read any label cautions to avoid interactions with medicines and such!
Step 8: Add one multi-vitamin. I use "Men's formula" but if you're a woman and you do that I can't promise you won't grow facial hair or start scratching in socially unacceptable places.
Step 9: Hit that little button on the blender that says "grind" until all the chunky kinda stuff quits making weird noises. Low speed seems to grind best.
Step 10: Turn the thing on high speed and hit the "liquify" button. Run it maybe a minute or so.
Step 11: Drink the potion, my little pretty! You're mine now... Ahahahaaaaa!
You just had breakfast! It makes about a coffee cup size serving, maybe a tad more some days depending on what you put in it, how large the fruit is, etc. You can have up to 4 open face saltines with a small dab of peanut butter mid-morning but that's it until lunch! Give it 3 months and I doubt you'll ever stop enjoying this breakfast treat that packs such a tremendous punch. You'll start to notice a difference in your energy level within 3 weeks. Each ingredient is essential except the banana, but it does give a great flavor and texture. You are welcome to add other fruit, I often add strawberries, oranges or blueberries. A few mixed nuts occassionally are good too.
I suppose you could sub orange juice for the milk, citrus is a known weight loss agent which is why I often use orange yogurt. But the apple...nah, I wouldn't...an apple in the morning has been proven to provide a bigger energy boost than two cups of coffee!
Do not pass gas. Do not add small furry animals.

Here are some blenders I found that will definitely work for you. Having many speeds and options is important so the smoothie doesn't end up being more of a roughie with little chunks of nastiness you have to force yourself to swallow. Properly blended, it will be like drinking a milkshake. The main thing is the motors in some blenders aren't powerful enough to crush ice cubes or vitamins. These ones are plenty powerful.
This will make your smoothie smooth for sure. Afterwards it looks like if you press the right button you could maybe amuse youself by monitoring police broadcasts or land on mars or something.
