Once you've decided to take action and get the six pack abs that you've always dreamed of having, the best place to start is by creating your plan. Most successful fitness experts agree that the writing down your goals. Writing goals gives you a specific target to shoot for. Knowing where your target is makes hitting it so much easier.
This is going to set the tone for your mindset. Having the correct mindset is crucial in the any kind of success and achieving fitness is no different. Make the commitment to give your workouts 100 percent every day and do this with consistency. If you really want to achieve your goals do not take this step too lightly.
If getting ripped abs was easy, everyone would have them. The fact is this is something that you'll have to work for. If you plan on working out half-heartedly for a couple days and then quit, forget it, slackers need not apply for six pack abs.
Do Crunches Really Work?
I know you're thinking that this is too easy, crunches? And besides you've heard that they don't work. Fact is the reason you hear old school fitness instructors tout crunches is because they do work you just need to do them the right way. This is how I was taught by my instructor:
Lay down flat on the floor with your knees bent. Next hold your hands behind your head, not touching your head just hold them behind. To begin the crunch you simply look up to the sky and raise your head and hands 4 to 5 inches off the floor and you're done. Now do 3 or 4 dozen of these babies everyday and watch your six pack start to appear.
Add Diet And Cardio To The Mix
Now that you've got the correct form for crunches down, I have to give you the second thing that I did to get my six pack abs. Diet and cardio.
What you want to aim for is a ten percent body fat. All the crunches in the world won't make abs appear when they are covered in a layer of fat. The simple keys to get rid of fat are to eliminate or at least reduce your intake of refined sugars and saturated fat. Add some fiber and water and you have my simple fat reduction system. Couple these simple steps with some added cardio and your crunches and your friends will be asking you "how did you get ripped abs
