Vitamin C

Updated on January 19, 2015

Vitamin C miracle or How I recovered in one day from a bad flu

Due to a bad flue 17 years ago I spent one week in bed - then another week just lazing around the house . I did not wish to go out at all but we had a holiday booked and payed in the mountains - so I had to go ..As we were riding up and down the hills I had big pain on my ear drums . It was a wonderful Indian summer around us we were living in a villa in the middle of the forest -the air was fresh and pure and I was not able to enjoy it at all . I still felt terribly weak at times . Then one day as we were walking in the forest I found some rose hips _ I collected them. When we were kids we used to have a lots of rose hip infusion - but it became somehow forgotten . I ate them fresh I drank some infusion ... It worked like a miracle : half day later all my symptoms had vanished ... and i enjoyed a lot our holidays in the hills ... Some years later I found articles claiming that vitamin C can cure most of the viral disease very fast .... and even it cures more ailments ... Read my page full of links to these articles ....

Preventing or treating common cold

Cold/Flu Cure #1: 8 g every 20 minutes

At first sign of cold or flu, begin taking at least 8 g (8000 mg) of vitamin C as ascorbic acid every twenty minutes for 3 to 4 hours until bowel tolerance, and then smaller dosages of 2-4 g every 4-6 hours for ten days to prevent recurrence.

How it works ?

the skin turns dark like ink , the body is full of ulcers ,breathing becomes difficult ,limbs are swelling ,heavy bleeding from the mouth and the victim gets a foul smell

they become very sensitive ,they get crying easily ,they get scared easily

Interesting facts

learn more on vitamin C

Unlike most mammals, humans do not have the ability to make their own vitamin C.

Therefore, we must obtain vitamin C through our diet.

scurvy, had been known for centuries as a fatal disease

it had frightening symptoms : bleeding ,hair and tooth loss ,mood swings

,joint pain ,fatigue

,old wounds had opened ,difficulty in breathing then death

Vasco De Gama while sailing to India had lost two third of its crew due to scurvy

it used to be called "the sailors' plague "

description of the disease from the 16 th century : the skin turns dark ,like ink , the body is full of ulcers ,breathing becomes difficult ,limbs are swelling ,heavy bleeding from the mouth ,and the victim gets a foul smell

the victims became very sensitive ,they get crying easily ,they get scared easily

Columbus sailors did not become ill because they had plenty of pickles with them

Curacao island got its name because the sick sailors who were left there to their fate got cured after eating fruits

it was difficult to believe that this so much dreaded disease can be cured by simply some spoonful of lemon juice - so in vain some doctors and captains insisted on this simple cure it needed long years and the death of tens of thousands until it was accepted.

Vitamin C tablets and its dangers

Not everybody tolerates well the artificial vitamin pills . It happened to my husband that suddenly he got anemia after a vitamin C cure .It turned out that he suffers of favism or G6PD deficiency .it affects 400 million people worldwide . In his case suddenly the red blood cells number dropped .

It is always better to remain at natural sources !

When using natural sources of vitamin C then you can only guess the amount . At the Best Sources of Vitamin C you can read about some fruit and their vitamin C content -needs a little calculation ...but there is no problem to take more ...when it is all natural ...

interesting lens. but how can you take 8 g of vitamin C every 20 minutes but not using the Vitamin C tablets? if you just use rose hip or other natural resources, how do you calculate correctly the amount of rose hip or other fruits you take equals to exactly 8 grams?

I take 4 - 1000mg tablets each day all year long. 2 in AM, - 2 in PM No colds again this year!

I have never taken a flu shot, most likely never will.

Everyone I know who got a flu shot got sick. I'll take my "C" instead.

Vitamin C also helps with skin elasticity. Nature is so kind to package it all together in fruits and vegetables. We just have to eat them!

Very good Renitha ! Just keep up this good habit . Encourage your family members to have fruit every day as well ! According to my experience men tend to forget about the importance of fresh fruit and vegetables !
