Mental Health Recovery - Online and Printable Mood Tracker Templates

Updated on August 23, 2017

How to Start Charting Changes in Your Mood

Logging the changes in your mood and overall mental health helps you remember what happened, identify patterns and triggers and communicate more effectively with your doctor about all of the above.

I am SchizoAffective and am only very recently starting to manage my mental health effectively, in part because daily I take careful note of all the changes in my moods and symptoms. You can download free Excel and PDF versions of the mood tracker worksheets I use. They can be used as is, or modified for Depression, PTSD, Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia and other mental illnesses.

Identify triggers and patterns and communicate better with your doctor.

I have SchizoAffective Disorder. It's a bit like having Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia. One of the things that is really hard for me is communicating with my doctor. Communication. Period. Is. Hard. For. Me (at least in person - I seem to do fairly well typing on a computer).

So being able to hand my doctor a monthly mood chart is a life saver. That's when we really started making progress.

I created these mental health worksheets based off a "personal calendar" that was given to me by the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA).

BStable Mood Management Solution

This software costs $100. I have not purchased it, but it looks interesting. I'm wondering if anyone else has used it and has anything positive or negative to say about it?

Have you used BeStable?

Is it woth the $99?

Online Mood Trackers - Log Your Mental Health Symptoms and Moods Online

I've yet to try this service, but it looks great. It also tracks your medication history. This is great if you're comfortable posting all of your mental health related information online. If you're not comfortable sharing all of that private information keep a paper copy using my printable mood tracker charts.

I work with people experiencing mental health issues and I think mood trackers such as these can prove incredibly helpful in explaining recent patterns of moods when it comes to chatting with your doctor/psychologist. I also think simply taking a bit of time each day to reflect on your own mood is important in learning how to recognize when you might need to seek help.
