Over the past month i have been looking into alternatives to supermarket anti-perspirants and deodorants and have found a wealth of information regarding the harm that chemical in anti-perspirants and deodorants that can cause harm such as cancers. While i will not go into details in this area i do acknowledge they exist and worth exploring. But for this Hub i will high light some of the benefits and features of Natural Crystal Deodorants also know as deodorants stones or Almun as a natural and simple cheap alternative to commercially available anti-perspirant's and deodorants.

Antiperspirants vs Deodorants

Antiperspirants: contains chemical compounds that block the pores in your body and stops the discharge of perspiration or sweat. The active compounds found in many antiperspirants are aluminum based such as Aluminium Chlorohydrate. With the Pores blocked, sweat is reduced, preventing the growth of odour causing bacteria.

Deodorants: on the other hand allows the release of perspiration, but prevents body odour by killing odor-causing bacteria with antiseptic agents.

  3. Aftershave

Application: Crystal Deodorants are easily incorporated into your daily hygienic routine and use after baths and showers.

Step 1: After a bath or shower, towel dry your body.

Step 2: Wet your Crystal Deodorants in water and rub on to underarms, feet and other sweaty odor-prone areas.

Step 3: Allow to dry. Do not wipe the area as this will remove the thin layer of mineral salts.

Step 4: Rinse Crystal Deodorant, towel dry the stone and store in a dry place. It will crystallize and caused minor abrasion on the skin when used next if the stone is not dried. If this happens, wet the stone again before use to smooth out the minor rough edges.
