Best Shoes For Neuropathy Feet - Sketchers Shape Ups

Updated on October 25, 2010

My mother suffers from the Neuropathy feet condition that causes such extreme pain in her feet that she was put on 4 very strong pain pills a day, everyday just to deal with the post chemotherapy condition.

Her neuropathy is the result of multiple chemotherapy treatments to rid her of appendix cancer. The cancer is gone, but she now suffers from what will be a lifelong painful condition in her feet.

Even with the heavy pain medication, my mom was still in pain in the evenings after being on her feet all day for work.. Recently however she decided to Buy Skechers shape up shoes after someone recommended them to her. This has made a huge difference. Instead of being in pain every single day, all day, she now is able to get around much better and the pain in her feet has lessened. She wears these Skechers shape ups all the time now. After a day of work on her feet, she has found that she only needs to take 1 pain pill instead of 4. This is a huge difference.

Skechers Neuropathy Shoes?

I always wear Skechers just because I love their no laces tennis shoes, I am actually surprised that the fashionable name brand shoe company would come out with something that could help my mom so much with her neuropathy feet. But, they work.

Even last weekend while we were on vacation in Disneyland, she was able to get around much easier then she would have without these shoes and without taking hardly any pain pills. For the most part, she paid the extra change to be able to use the motorized scooter throughout the amusement park, but she was on her feet quite a bit throughout the day.

My aunt also owns a pair of these. She wore them for our entire trip as well. She does not have neuropathy, but chooses to wear them just for the benefits that can enjoyed by anyone.

They are expensive. Ranging around $100 to $130+ for each pair, but they last and they are worth it.

Shoes For Neuropathy Feet

If you are looking for shoes for neuropathy feet condition, try the Sketchers Shape Ups. They form to your feet and create a walking pattern that makes you take proper, balanced steps. They also help to reduce stress on your knee and ankle joints, Help tone muscles, and improve posture. These shoes for neuropathy feet also have a foam pad for shock absorption.

The reason they work is because they create the effect with every step of walking properly on soft ground. Your feet will glide through each step with support in the spots where your feet need support. This puts less pressure on the spots that cause so much pain.

Sketchers didn't make these shoes for neuropathy, but they really work for it. For both men and women there are a variety of style choices so everyone can wear something they are comfortable with, while still experiencing relief from their neuropathy.

While I can't say it's a cure. My mom still does experience pain on a regular basis, it is such an improvement for her and I am glad to see her feeling somewhat better after the many months that she has been feeling miserable and depressed from her feet hurting so badly.

Good article, probably helpful for many people with neuropathy issues. I'm diabetic and therefore always on the lookout for anything that may help with foot issues. Unfortunately, after checking into Skechers I found they don't make any in my size (it's an issue with many brands). All the same I wanted to write to say, thank you, it was a good article on a topic that is not often covered.
