Nordic Track C2420 Treadmill

Updated on March 24, 2013

Nordic Track C 2420 Treadmill - Features and Availability

The Nordic Track C2420 treadmill was an extremely popular treadmill with good features and durability record. I say was because Nordic Track does not make this model anymore. I put together this page to help runners and fitness enthusiasts find either a used Nordic Track C2420 or a comparable treadmill with similar features and price. I'll cover a few options with prices either a bit higher or a bit lower than the Nordic Track C2420 which sold for $1299.

What features are we looking for?

- at least 0 to 12 MPH with one button speed control

- easy-to-adjust incline of 0-12 degrees

- programmed workouts included (optional)

- good performance/reliability

- affordable (in the $700 to $1400 price range)

- adequate running surface size

- foldable is a plus!

If Nordic Track C2420 Treadmill isn't available...

then what should I buy?

Question: So if I can no longer buy a Nordic Track C 2420 treadmill, what is a similar model?

Answer: NordicTrack C 900 Pro Treadmill Nordic Track

The other model that is similar to the Nordic Track C2420 treadmill is the NordicTrack C1550 treadmill which has a slightly more powerful motor and a longer warranty. You can get both of these models directly from Nordic Track, but Sears prices seem to be comparable.

Both of these treadmills feature 0 to 15 percent incline adjustment, 0 to 12 MPH speeds, a running belt that is 20 inches wide and 60 inches long (very common size) and advertise QuadFlex Cushioning to reduce impact and increase comfort. There are additional features like a heart rate monitor and iFit program, but my own feeling is you want a treadmill that does the basic functions very well and forget the bells and whistles. A good treadmill needs to tilt up, go flat, speed up, speed down. If you want a heart-rate monitor, my advice is to get one separate from the treadmill that you can wear if you go outside. I'm pretty sure both of these treadmills also have speakers that play music, but everyone I know that runs wears an iPod for entertainment while running anyway.

You Can Look for a Nordic Track C2420 Treadmill on Ebay - but generally you won't find much

Once in a great while someone will sell a NordicTrack C 2420 on Ebay, but it's pretty rare. Below are the current search results.

Last Christmas my husband bought a TV/DVD combo and hung it from the ceiling in front of our treadmill (which is in the basement). This is an awesome way to increase your workouts and decrease your boredom, heck.... you can virtually eliminate being bored.

Here is a link to a Proscan 22-Inch LED HDTV with Built-In DVD Player on sale $169 at Amazon (click for current price)

or if that model doesn't suit you (or isn't available anymore) then check out these cheap TV DVD Combo on Amazon with High Customer Ratings
