Why We Bought The Bodyblade
I originally bought the Bodyblade for my husband. He is keen to get fitter but doesn't want to go to a gym and needs something he can pick up and work on quickly whenever he feels like it. Maintaining health and getting fitter is important to both of us.
It arrived quite quickly and really almost as soon as you get it out of the packaging you can start using it. There was no complicated assembly to frustrate us. Just unpack it and get going!
I would recommend that you read the instructions and watch the instructional DVD of course but it is easy to follow the instructions and simple to use.

My Husbands Experience Of The BodyBlade.
I was thrilled when my husband took to using the Bodyblade right away! It is always nice when a gift is well received.
Years ago he had been very much into weights and going to the gym but had not done any consistent exercise like this except for walking for a few years and he was keen to get back into something but did not want to go lift weights at the gym anymore.
He found the Bodyblade very convenient. It took him only a few minutes to get used to the actions required and the different exercises were easy to learn.
He found he could easily fit in doing five or ten minutes before work and the same after work. No driving to the gym, no needing to wear specific clothes for working out.
Soon he started to feel better and then he started to notice the toning and firming of muscles in his arms and also the toning of his stomach muscles leading to a flatter more defined image.
Most of all he enjoyed doing the exercises!
My Experience Of The BodyBlade
Well hubby had been liking it a lot and doing the exercises without any persuasion, so one day I thought I would give it a go too.
Now I am only just getting back into exercise after a serious illness last year and my arms are much weaker than they used to be. I also have a back issue herniated discs and I have had serious bilateral sciatica and low back pain and although not in pain now I am always cautious when approaching nay new exercise, so I was a little unsure.
So I started slow and very gentle which I found was perfectly possible to do. As you are driving the speed and mobility of the blade it is very much under your control.
However once you get into the motion of this exercise I found it very satisfying to do. I started doing the exercises for just two minutes, one exercise er minute and built up very slowly until I was doing several exercises at one session. It did not hurt me. I never attempt to do all the exercises in one go I always spilt them up over the course of a week. However hubby can do most of them in a couple of sessions. I am only using it for two or three minutes at a time right now. Hubby uses it for five to ten minutes. We both feel like we have had a good workout from it.
In fact it seems to suit my very gentle workouts and my hubbys more testing works outs the same.

Tips On Using The BodyBlade
The Bodyblade does not weigh much and is so easy to store, it takes up very little room which is ideal. Most exercise equipment takes up so much space but this is hardly noticeable in our home. We can use it in any room we choose or even outdoors on the patio when its warm. Then we just prop it up against the wall in the corner of one of our rooms when its not in use.
It is best to spend a little time getting the rhythm and technique good first. Just hold the blade very gently. You do not need to grip hard , in fact the softer and more gentle your grip the better. You can feel when you get it right and once into the rhythm it does feel right.
It can take a little time to sort out the rhythm but once you got it it seems to stay. Then you can build up the time and variety of exercises. However neither of us found it difficult.
I thought initially that it would be only my arms that would get the training but after using it I find that I can also feel it in my thighs,and abdominals too.
Also I can feel it helping those muscles in my arms which are already getting stronger and I am looking forward to gaining more strength and more shape and definition there too. Hubbys muscles are coming along nicely.
It is great to feel that you have had a workout in a very short space of time. We found it best to spilt up the workouts into short sessions couple of times a day but you will know what is right for you and your fitness levels. You can of course combine it with other types of exercise.
You can do it in full gym gear if you want but equally we often just do a few minutes whatever we are wearing. I would advise comfortable flat proper exercise shoes though as you need to have a good posture. I wouldn't try it wearing high heels!
I do not find it boring, It does not seem to be necessary to do long complicated workouts to get some benefit. You do have to concentrate so time passes very fast and then you are done !
For us it has been an excellent purchase. We can both use it as often as we like anytime of day, It is very sturdy , stores easily, is simple to use and effective.
There is a DVD and a wall chart for you to learn the technique and exercises and I do think it is worthwhile watching the DVD and looking over the wall chart so that you understand the technique and what all the different exercises can do for you. However, after a few times you will know what to do.
You don't need much more from a piece of exercise equipment!
