The Power to Change Countless Lives.

Many people do not realize the power of a smile. It can work magic, it can heal emotional pain, and it can remove physical pain.

When you smile at another person you not only let them feel that they are wanted, accepted and appreciated, but you also give encouragement as well.

One simple smile has the power to calm fear, insecurity, hurt, and anxiety. It has the power within it to change the world because smiles can be shared. They are contagious. When you smile at another person you pass all the wonderful benefits of smiling on to that person.

A Smile Shines Into the Heart to Brighten the Gloomiest Mood.

Smiles are Wonderfully Contagious.

You have the power within you to create a smile and there is a lot of power in that expression. Whenever you smile at someone else they are very likely to start smiling too because a smile is infectious. Try it. Tilt up the corner of your lips at someone on the street and the odds are that you will make that person grin back at you

When they smile back then they too will feel a wave of happiness flood throughout their being. For a little while all their physical and emotional aches and pains will miraculously go away.

You have the power within you to change attitudes and to change lives, yet all you have to do is smile.

You smile at someone, and they at another person, and that person at someone else, and the change begins. You have the power to make the world a much nicer place to live in and all you have to do is smile.

Wake up to a little bit of happy first thing in the morning.

Surround yourself in smiles. Simply seeing a smiling face will cause a smile to creep across your face. You can try to hold your smile in, but it won't work, that silly grin is still going to come out anyways.

A smile can make you feel good inside.

It is a Wonderful Way to Share a Little Happiness?

A smile is one of the most powerful gifts that you can give to another person. That one simple gesture has the ability to lift another into a feeling of intense enjoyment, erase loneliness, and remove physical and emotional pain.

When you share a smile you share happiness. What an amazing gift to give to another.

A smile is beyond value and without value, it is simply a commodity that we share with selfishness. There is tremendous power in a smile and sharing one can be the nicest thing you do.

Sing or Watch Someone Else Sing it Will Gift You a Light Heart.

A Little Chemical Message Called an Endorphin is the Cause.

Studies show that when you smile something wonderful happens within your body. You feel happier. Your brain sends a rush of feel good messages throughout your body.

So let's look a little deeper into how smiling makes you happy. Let us take a little tour into the depths of your physiological structure.

Did you know that when you smile you release a chemical message deep within your brain known as an Endorphin? Once released these Endorphins travel down the spine sending feel good messages throughout the rest of your body as they go.

These Endorphins are strong enough to actually have the power to reduce symptoms of physical, or emotional pain, and they will blanket you with a nice warm fuzzy feeling of well being. They are a chemical of approximately the same strength as another feel good chemical that we know as Morphine (wow huh).

Endorphins have the ability to make you feel happy, and whenever you smile, you release them. So even if you are not happy when you begin to smile, you will be after wards, and the more often that you smile then the happier that you will feel.

Smiling has also been proven to be contagious, so you have the power to make other people smile, and you can do this by simply passing a smile to someone else. All you have to do to make someone happy is to smile at them. It's a fact.

Are you a smiley person?

Harvey R. Ball: The guy who created the smiley.

Smiling just naturally makes you feel happier so help make the world a happier place and share a smile today.

The first smiley was created in 1963 by Harvey R. Ball. Mr. Ball was co-owner of a public relations firm and he created the smiley to help improve the morale of workers within a recently merged insurance company.

The original design of a happy smiling face on a black background was to become famous, yet Mr. Ball never applied for a trademark / copyright for his creation. He received a total of $240.00 for the entire smiley campaign.

Sure, it's pretty well established. Long ago, I noticed that the most successful people smile a lot.

Another factor is that any smile not made reverses itself and swells your body.

Absolutely! A smile has gotten me to a lot of places I might not have been able to attain without it. I find that when I'm out among strangers and I smile, I receive smiles back, and as you said, it makes us both feel good, and then it's passed on. Truly, a smile is a powerful thing!

Absolutely. Just the other day I was sitting on the bus with my three-year-old granddaughter. We had had a lovely pre-holiday outing and were both full, happy and tired. She curled up next to me and fell asleep. I closed my eyes a moment, smiling with the comfort and quiet joy of our time together. When I opened them a moment later, the fellow directly across from me had the sweetest smile on his face. I looked around, and others were smiling too. Happiness is infectious.

Alla' my kiddies were smiling when they were born. The doctor was so shocked by this unusual occurrence that he burst out laughing right after he lifted the last one up. I had the same doctor an' C-sections for all of 'em an' the last one was facing up with a smile on his face. It did my heart good to feel that my intentional smile each morning before I opened my eyes may have contributed to giving birth to happy babies.

Thank you so much for your visits to my Unicorn Gifts and Collectibles page an' my Scavenger Hunt in My Grandmother's Attic page. Your comments an' Squid Likes, as well as your Angel Blessing, are very much appreciated.

I was so sorry to hear that you missed out on having your own gramma' an' grampa' experiences because your parents were both orphaned as children. On the other hand, what a lovely thing it must have been for you to bring your parents the kinda' joy that grandies can bring to a family. Your parents must surely have appreciated the beautiful encounters that were suddenly a new an' rich part 'uh their lives. I'm so happy for all of you.

I do. I remember when I was young reading about things you do to make people feel comfortable and liked. Being a natural introvert and slightly lacking in social skills, none of these came easily. However, I chose to try to implement them in my interaction with people, so that they would be blessed by my presence rather than not having any effect on people whatsoever. It really does make a difference for others, and a smile is so important. When you give a smile to someone it is a gift.

LOVE YOUR LENS! I am on a mission to spread smiles! I have a page called make someone smile today which gives ideas on how to make a stranger smile!

I'm going to see just how many people I can smile at tomorrow during my morning walk. I hope that most of them smile back. Unfortunately, a lot of people around here won't even make eye contact. We will all just have to try to change that! :)
