Diarrhea can cause the loss of valuable nutrients, especially electrolytes, which are salts required by your body to maintain correct fluid balance, nervous system function, and general health. If you have diarrhea, be sure to drink plenty of fluids, especially fluids that contain electrolytes.

I have suffered somewhat with IBS - so I do have to be careful. The advice here does make sense and tally with my own experiences. One other thing to avoid is highly processed flour products - pizza dough for example.
