Smiles Are For Sharing: Brighten Someone's Life Today

Updated on January 12, 2015

Flowers to Make You Smile

Smiles will take you to magic places. Try sharing your smiles and see where you go. Even though you may not go anywhere special in the physical sense, you will go somewhere special within your thoughts.

Pick a flower, sing a song, or dance a little. Now look in the mirror and see who is smiling at you.

Smile and The World Smiles With You

Can Your Imagine a World Without Smiles?

What a wonderful place the world would be if it could be full of smiles. I can't think of anything else that brings joy into my life more quickly than a smile from someone. Friend, foe or stranger; it makes no difference, a smile is a smile and it cannot be denied. A smile from someone brightens my day. Just this morning, passing a stranger in the street walking with her little child, she beamed a smile that reminded me what a happy place the world can be.

The people we meet daily are important in our lives and without their interaction a day could be rather dull.

However, there are other things in my life that I revere and smile about. Little children with their innocent and cute behavior make me smile; I find them irresistible. Little dogs make me smile, as do little kittens. And then there is plant life, and above all else are the daffodils that herald the season of Spring.

I've always had a 'special' smile when I see the first daffodils of the season; the pureness of the yellow daffodil brings a warm glow within me, and tells me that warmer days are nigh. Sometimes I question the braveness of the beautiful flower and envy its courage in facing the cold elements of snow, rain and sometimes hail, when in fact it was designed for warmer days.

Daffodil Day for Hope and Healing

A Daffodil to Bring You A Smile

An extra special attribute of the daffodil is that it resembles hope for people going through the experience of Cancer. So many around the world who are affected by this disease are given hope and encouragement to face each day and the bright yellow color of the daffodil resembles joy and realization of the happy times ahead.

@smine27: Thank you so much for your very nice comment. I'm sorry to have taken so long to reply; it wasn't kind of me and wouldn't make my followers smile. I've just been a little extra busy and hope to do more on Squidoo soon. I've just visited your Sushi lens and I think that you have done a great job with the lens and with the amazing sushi cake. It is great. Thank you also for Squid liking my lens.

First of all, flowers bring me joy and definitely makes me smile. My dog Justin makes me smile and the sight of cupcakes make me giddy. Getting beautiful messages from fellow squids also make my day. Thanks for sharing this delightful lens.

@mel-kav: Thank you so much for your comment, I appreciate it It was good to read about your daughter's smile, and yours, when you sent her the picture of her two dogs. Smiles are certainly contagious, even remotely, and the great thing is that these days we don't have to go far to find a smile. We can just get on the internet and instantly find something to smile about. I just found a lot to smile at, as well as have a great laugh, when I read your lens about funny pictures and images. I know now where to go for an instant laugh. Thanks so much for making that great lens :)

@SavioC: Thank you for your comment; I agree with you about kittens, they are gorgeous and make me smile too. Thank you also for liking my Smiles lens. I've just been reading your lens about The Secret which interested me greatly. I always have the book nearby so that I can refer to it when I feel the need. Rhonda Bryne certainly got people thinking when she made the film, and followed it up with her series of books. Thanks again, and best wishes.

Thanks for the smile - you made me think about bright, happy things - and that alone made me smile :)

Also, my daughter is house/dog sitting for a family member. I just sent her a picture of her two dogs. And she responded by saying, "Thank you, that just put a big smile on my face". And just knowing that made me feel good and smile

@Elsie Hagley: Thank you for you lovely comment. The weather we are having at present is certainly hard on the flowers and it's amazing how so many of them survive the gale force winds and rain. They are like you kiwiana - they smile when the sun shines - that's the best way to go. And thank you very much for visiting my lens and liking it. I appreciate it. And, I love your Christmas lens; it is beautiful :)

Beautiful article, I love daffodils there are a lot still flowering this spring, makes it feel like winters over seeing so many around, but with all the rough weather we have had the last few days it makes you wonder. I am still smiling though, just seeing the sun trying to shine today makes me smile.

Nice lens. An authentic smile conveys your feelings to others and even your inner-self and I believe is a great form of honest communication.

      Thank you.

@MarathonRunning: Thank you very much for your lovely comment; I am so pleased my lens made your feel happier and knowing that makes me happy too! Something else that makes me happy, and smile, is that participating in Squidoo gives us a chance to 'meet' people that we otherwise wouldn't. So it's a 'thumbs up' from me for Squidoo. Thanks so much again MarathonRunning, I'll catch up with you later on one of your lenses.

Lovely Lens! Nice job! It made me laugh and I started to feel happier. Love the daffodils and their bright yellow color (especially wild species). Just like they are made from pure gold and like their fields have this purpose to lighten up someoneâs day :)
