Simplify All Areas Of Your Life and Have More Time and More Money

Updated on May 27, 2015

Quote by Abraham Lincoln

"I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong."

If you're reading this it's because you dream of having an simple, stress-free life where everything is easy to do and you have more money without having to work more.

Whilst some dream of the simple life as living a barren life in the wilderness with no material possessions, you just want an uncomplicated life with more time and money.

Well, the good news is that your lifestyle is completely in your own control, because we are the creators of our own existence.

This means that if your life sucks, it's your own fault, but at the same time, it's fixable.

The first step is to get rid of the things that you don't need, don't want, and/or are toxic for you.

This, naturally, begins with physical possessions.

We all own things we don't need and these are things that sit around in cupboards for years and years and never get used.

These things can go.

There are also things you don't want ,like that suit you always wear to weddings and special occasions. You may keep it because it's the only suit you have, but you don't like it. But you'll never buy a new one until you get rid of the old one. So get rid of the suit you don't like and get a suit you do like.

Lastly there are things that you own that are toxic for you. For instance, you might be wasting your life playing computer games and it's making you miserable. Or you may keep using your doughnut maker to make doughnuts that are making you fat and unhapppy.

So sell or donate the your computer games and the doughnut maker, and enjoy the difference it makes.

Buy a vegetable slicer instead and spend your new non-gaming time helping out at a local charity instead.

You may also (deep down) know that there are other non-material things in your life that you don't need, don't want, or are toxic.

This could be a habit or even a relationship.

These are things that you need to consider carefully, and only you know the truth about your own situation.

But if you want a really simple and stress-free life you MUST get rid of EVERYTHING that is toxic to you.

If you have a hard time with releasing anything in your life, just think of how good it will feel to be rid of it once the emotional 'letting go' is over.

Just make sure you don't go out and replace every physical item you got rid off.

Instead make it your mission to never clutter your physical space again. The less you own the less work you have to do to maintain and clean your possessions.

And you don't have to know in advance how you're going to cope once something is out of your life, you only have to let go of it. The future always takes care of itself. But if you keep doing what you're doing, you're going to keep getting what you're getting.

And then, when you've cleared your proverbial decks, it's time to simplify what's left.

In your mind, go through your daily life and see what you can do to make things easier and simpler.

  • Hate mowing the lawn? Pay someone else to do it.
  • Want to be healthy but don't know how? Take a course or a class.
  • Hate having to visit relatives every weekend? Then don't. Do it once a month or once every two months - or less. It's your life, not theirs.
  • Like to eat at home but hate cooking? Create simple meals like pasta with a jar of sauce, beans on toast, a can a soup.
  • Want to run an online business the easy way? Forget all the hype and just start a free blog.
  • Sick of working overtime? Then don't. Look for ways to spend less instead of earning more.

Whatever it is in your life that bothers you, or that you find difficult or stressful, you can find a way to eliminate it or simplify it.

It's your life.

Stop living in physical and emotional clutter.

Stop earning money just to spend it on unnecessary things. That's as stupid as giving your money away to those businesses, because it's just as pointless.

Stop doing what you hate doing and apply the K I S S (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle to your whole life.

Stop worrying and start enjoying life.

Quote by Melody Beattie

"Letting go helps us to to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance. It allows others to be responsible for themselves and for us to take our hands off situations that do not belong to us. This frees us from unnecessary stress."
