Singing Toothbrushes - Your Child's Favorite Brush Buddy

Updated on April 7, 2015

Getting Kids to Clean Their Teeth Properly

When I was a lad I had one choice and one choice alone of what toothbrush I used. It was the one I was given! A small plastic Tek brush that came in 3 colors, which was handy as there was 3 members of our family. The idea of anything else seemed almost like fantasy. I had seen electric toothbrushes in American television shows, but the idea of owning one never crossed my mind as television show products were for rich people. So I made do with my little plastic, red Tek toothbrush.

Fast forward many years and many electric toothbrushes and I thought I had seen and used them all. Oh how misguided was I. Recently whilst watching the performance of my 4yo niece at teeth cleaning time I wondered if there was a product out there that would hold her attention whilst getting the job of cleaning her teeth done. Much searching later I found the perfect product, a Brush Buddy Singing Toothbrush, a great gift idea for a young person any time of the year.

The Singing Toothbrush Principle - A Tooth Tune

How do singing toothbrushes work? They are fairly straightforward in that you push a button on the brush and it starts to play the pre programmed song. The cool and useful thing about this is that the music is played through the brush head which means that the child gets the unusual experience of the music coming up through their mouth into their ears. And what better way to keep a child interested in something than by making it novel?

The brush benefits the parents because it gets the child enthusiastic and keen to brush their teeth and the song is usually set to replicate the perfect brushing time, so you are not bombarded with that constant tirade of 'am I finished yet Uncle Ted?' Singing toothbrushes are win win situation for both children and parents (and Uncle Teds).

They will be your best buddy at teeth brushing time!

Justin Beiber Singing Toothbrush

What better singing toothbrush buddy for a 4yo girl than a Justin Beiber crooning brush.

2 minutes of pure joy for the small belieber in your life!

How a Brush Buddy can get your kids into the right tooth brushing habits

Cody Simpson Singing Toothbrush

If you are not familiar with Cody Simpson, he is Australia's answer to Justin Bieber. Young and adorably cute, if you want a full update on his 'dreaminess', just ask any girl under the age of 14 for a full, detailed, ever ending biography of this boy from the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Hands Free Toothpaste Dispensers

What better way to ensure that the correct amount of toothpaste is dispensed each and every time. No more lost lids and squished tubes.

Lady Gaga Singing Toothbrush

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta or Lady Gaga as she is known has currently sold 23 million albums and 64 million singles worldwide and you must have been living in box in a cave in outer Mongolia if you haven't heard of her. A fashion stylista and at times controversial, Gaga (as she is known to her friends) is popular with both boys and girls. Perfect for a singing toothbrush.

Hot Chelle Rae

Hot Chelle Rae

Is your young lady not content with just idolising one cute boy? Then Hot Chelle Rae is the perfect solution. Four, young, wholesome Southern boys whose credits include performing on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest and the 2012 Pro Bowl pre-game ceremonies at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii, what more could a little girl ask for?

Spider-Man Singing Toothbrush

The perfect toothbrush for that little budding super-hero in your life. Spider-man, Spider-Man does what ever a spider can, but even can better help your little one clean his teeth for exactly 2 minutes. What better incentive does a little boy need than being told that they are doing exactly what 'Spidey' does?

Black Eyed Peas - I gotta feeling!

I've got a feeling that if I got this toothbrush with this song I would end up spraying the mirror with toothpaste every time I used it as I sang the chorus and ended it with a big woo hoooooooooooooooooo! Yes I guess I am still an 8yo boy trapped in a man's body. Is that a bad thing ;-).

Hannah Montana

Every Parents Default Babysitter

There probably isn't a parent or grandparent in the Western world that doesn't know who Hannah Montana is. Though less may know that her father in both the show and real life is Billy Rae Cyrus who apart from inflicting on grown ups everywhere one of the worst songs of all time ' Achy Breaky Heart' followed up with a television character based on Jed Clampett from the 60's television show 'The Beverly Hillbillies', even copying Jed's famous catchphrase 'Well doggies!'.

Thanks Billy Rae...

Jonas Brothers Singing Toothbrush

If you made a boy band out of sugar you would end up with the Jonas Brothers. 3 young clean cut boys from New Jersey who have sold 8 million albums worldwide, it is a good thing you have this toothbrush to clean away the sugar sweet taste they leave in your mouth! Loved universally by girls 13 and under.

Cow Talking Toothbrush

If your little one isn't into music, then what better way to teach them the correct teeth cleaning routine than a cow guiding them through two minutes of correct brushing technique? I almost want one myself.

Who invented the toothbrush?

The first confirmed toothbrush (as we know it) was made in China in 1498. The first mass produced brush was designed by Englishman William Aadis in 1770 whilst he sat in a jail cell. It wasn't until 1780 that he was free to mass produce them.

Would you buy a singing toothbrush?

LOL No, not for myself, I wouldn't. But I can see buying one as a gift for someone else, probably a child.

Hi There Ted,Unfortunately, there is only a like button there and no a "SuperLike!" button as we would love to "SuperLike" this Lens. Oh and by the way, never heard of this brush ever so its kind of interesting as in this part of the world, we won't hear or see such gadgets so it's a pity our children don't get the opportunity to have such goodies...The Otelbookers Team!

@MaureenCee: This is like true confessions for the both of us ;-0 I actually did eat some of the old mint toothpaste because it tasted like the PK chewing gum my dad gave me. Think if I had of been given strawberry flavoured toothpaste it would have lasted 3 hours.. not 3 days! How things have changed indeed!

Hi ted-batchelor, this was great thanks, I thought I was great when I was about 8yo getting pineapple flavoured toothpaste trouble was I ate in about 3 days so no more of that for me. It was the first of the flavoured toothpastes out here in Australia and tight as money was my mother thought she'd spoil me but I think I spoiled it for myself. My haven't things come a looooooooong way since then? How pass`e flavoured toothpaste when you can have singing toothbrushes and Justin Bieber at that.
