What is social anxiety?
Social anxiety is the fear of social situations that involve interaction with other people. You could say social anxiety is the fear and anxiety of being negatively judged and evaluated by other people. It is a pervasive disorder and causes anxiety and fear in most all areas of a person's life
Top 5 tips to cope with Social anxiety
Tip 1- Do not panic
If you panic you will show that you are feeling emotions which means more people will want to walk to you and see if you are okay, unless you want this do not show you emotions
Tip 2- avoid being alone
Whether you are on your phone or with friends if you are alone you will experience more anxiety than you think. If you have a friend that you can talk to comfortably, try calling them whenever you are going to be near people for example in town.
Tip 3- talk to somebody
if you have a friend or somebody you trust that you can talk to about everything then make sure you do, this will relieve a lot of stress and get a few things off your case.
Tip 4- control
When you are suffering from social anxiety there is usually a few symptoms that you can feel for example worry. If you are able to control it by breathing or getting out of the situation do it as you will then feel a lot better
Tip 5- have fun
Although you may feel rubbish with having social anxiety however you can still go out doing the things that you enjoy like going out with your friends or shopping, even if you are on your own you can go out and have fun.
