3 Day Diet - Illustrated with Photos!

At least make an effort to TRY it, or to show it to someone else who might benefit by trying it themselves.

Introduction to the three day diet - lose 10 pounds fast


The reason I wrote this article is because I have actually had success with this particular diet -- Yes, REALLY!

I had been on a cruise vacation in the Caribbean. All you can eat anytime (unlimited) included. How could I possibly resist the constant food experience (even the midnight buffet)! I gained an unacceptable amount of weight. It was quite embarrassing.

When I arrived back home I decided to try the 3 day diet. Thankfully I had written down the guidelines to follow. I figured that had at least a fighting chance to lose some of the extra weight. Because it said you should lose around 10 lbs or so on this diet (depending on your age and BMI to start with of course) if you don't cheat! And hey, don't forget, you get to eat ICE CREAM every day. So anyway, I did lose 10 lbs in 3 days (yes really - no B.S.), and I was very encouraged to keep it off. That is the reason I strongly wish to promote this really simple yet effective diet.

The basic theory behind the 3-day diet is quite simple actually. The mix of foods is supposedly calculated to boost your metabolism which will consequently convince those nasty calories to be burned.

You should remain on the diet program for only 3 days and must take at least a two day break before repeating it. But please don't just get into a pattern like that long term. Read on...

Honestly, most of the weight loss will occur because of WATER weight loss rather than a lot of FAT loss. Please don't think that this is some kind of magic trick. You will definitely feel less energy during the diet --->however that is normal.

Obviously people have different body weights and sizes to start with. So of course not everyone will lose an identical amount. I've read panicky nonsensical reviews about this diet. But, let's face it, psychologically (because of the wonderful immediate impact of 10 pounds lost) it is a great starting point for a REAL sustained long term diet program. The food is good, nothing weird or dangerous, so please get real naysayers. Get a life and stop freaking! Sure, the calorie count is very low, and the food is sparse but nevertheless it is a safe short term diet. I personally will guarantee that you will not die from this -OMG-!

So anyway, I myself found it VERY encouraging to see the sudden loss of 10 pounds in only three days, especially just before an event such as a Birthday or Wedding. How terrific to be able to fit into those clothes again!

Bottom line: keep looking for a well-balanced weight loss plan that controls calories every day, includes EXERCISE, and allows a wide variety of healthy foods. To lose weight, (let's be logical please) it is simply not enough to eat a prescribed diet for three days without addressing eating habits formed over a lifetime that cause weight gain.

Going on any diet requires a bit of preparation to follow through.

Personally I find that keeping track of your daily weight every day is a terrific motivator!

Use an electronic bathroom scale (I got mine at Walmart).

You should weigh yourself first thing in the morning after going to the washroom.

Don't wear any clothes when you step on the scale.

By the way, those are my husband's feet in the photo - not mine!

Just keep a pen attached to a wall calendar to make it easy to write down your weight every morning. Put the calendar on the wall above your bathroom scale.

DAY ONE

Breakfast

Half Grapefruit

Slice of Toast (no butter) with 1 tablespoon Peanut Butter

Lunch

3 oz Tuna on Toast

Dinner

3 oz Chicken, 1 cup Green Beans, 1 cup Carrots

1 cup Vanilla Ice Cream

1 Apple

DAY TWO

Breakfast

Egg on Toast

Half Banana

Lunch

6 oz Can Tuna

5 Saltine Crackers

Dinner

2 Plain Beef Hotdogs

1/2 Cup Carrots

Half Banana

1 Cup Broccoli

1/2 Cup Vanilla Ice Cream

DAY THREE

Breakfast

5 Saltine Crackers

1 Slice Cheddar Cheese

1 Apple

1 Boiled Egg

1 Slice of Toast

1 Cup of Melon

First Day

Breakfast

half grapefruit or juice

1 slice of toast (no butter) with 1 tablespoon peanut butter

Lunch

1/2 can of tuna (3oz)

1 slice of toast

Dinner

3 oz. any lean meat (like chicken)

1 cup of green beans

1 cup of carrots

1 cup of vanilla ice cream

1 apple (medium size)

Second Day

Breakfast

1 egg (boiled or scrambled)

1 slice of toast

half banana (save the other half for dinner)

Lunch

1 cup of cottage cheese or tuna (6oz can)

5 saltine crackers

Dinner

2 beef frankfurters (hot dogs)

1/2 cup of carrots

the other half banana from this morning (eww)!

1 cup of broccoli or cabbage

1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream

----------------------------------------------------

Third Day

Breakfast

5 regular saltine crackers

1 oz.(slice) cheddar cheese

1 apple (medium size)

Lunch

1 hard boiled egg

1 slice of toast

Dinner

1 can of tuna (6oz)

1 cup of carrots

1 cup of cauliflower

1 cup of melon (any type)

1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream

With every meal, black coffee or tea is allowed, but please don't add sugar! You can use artificial sweetener though.

It's also recommended:

Drink a lot of water

Don't add fats when preparing food

Don't skip meals

Condiments Allowed

* lemon (no limit)

* a dash of salt and/or pepper

* mustard

* cooking spray

* artificial sweetener for the coffee or tea

* multivitamin pill

Substitutions

Some people use the following substitutions for the 3 day diet:

* Orange instead of Grapefruit

* Tuna instead of Cottage cheese (and vice-verso)

* Frozen yogurt instead of Ice Cream

* Cauliflower instead of Broccoli (and vice-verso)

* Green beans instead of Broccoli or Cauliflower

* Beets instead of Carrots

* Toast instead of 5 crackers (and vice-verso)

      I just tried the 3-day diet...with a little variation..it was a copy that my mother-in-law had stached before she passed away. There were a few discrepancies...but I'm going to try again using your combinations. I lost 4 lbs. in 3 days, but like it said there was a difference in the amounts and the foods on the list that I had.

      I tried this diet before. I lost 11 lbs the first time then between 8-6 lbs every time after that. It's not that hard, but if you're not careful you'll gain it all back during the rest of the week.

      Nice lens--I'll show it to my dieter and see what he thinks. I did a couple of crazy ones when I was younger, so if it's a jumpstart and you keep losing or can maintain that is of course the best. Thanks for sharing it!

      I've tried this before and lost 8 lbs but gained it back because I wasn't exercising nor did I have a good workout routine. This time is different. I weighed myself at 176.6 today and I will see where this goes since I'm working out. I will keep you posted on my outcome
