What's so GREAT about this book!

There are LOTS of books on reflexology and alternative healing therapy out there! However, when I found this book and started reading through it, I fell in love with it because it focused on bringing self-healing specifically to girls and women.

Reflexology healing techniques for all of the issues that affect females throughout their lives are covered in this book - acne, painful periods, infertility (trouble conceiving a baby), morning sickness, labour pains, postnatal depression, miscarriages, candida, cystitis (bladder infections), plus hormonal change symptoms related to menopause, such as hot flashes & mood swings.

Take for example the female issue of fertility. There is sound advice on what to eat, some of the main causes of infertility, how reflexology can improve your chances of becoming pregnant naturally without the use of fertility drugs, supplements and herbal remedies that can be used to boost fertility.

Additionally, there are reflexology healing techniques for other generic complaints such as depression, anxiety, headaches, heartburn, constipation, Alzheimer's disease, rheumatism, arthritis, angina (chest pain), incontinence (leaking small amounts of urine), osteoporosis and more.

I also love the fact that nutrition and exercise tips are included throughout the book. So that it is all inclusive! The fact is that reflexology, proper diet and regular exercise are all tied into living a healthy life.

There are also bold, beautiful and extremely well-illustrated photos on each and every technique, so that you can understand and do the techniques at home for yourself.

MY OWN Reflexology Experience

As I became more aware of the magnificent, self-healing abilities of the body, I began to eliminate pharmaceuticals from my life and replace them by using the self-healing techniques of reflexology. That's more than 12 years now! And reflexology really works!!!

I have to admit that at first, it was kind of perplexing and exciting at the same time to grasp that profound knowledge that my body could heal its own self from ANYTHING with time, simply by applying specific reflexology massages.

At first I paid to have reflexology done by a professional reflexologist because I wanted to understand how the various reflexology massages should feel when done properly. Then I started experimenting on myself whenever I felt pain or discomfort in any part of my body.

I have also saved a boat load of money by eliminating going to doctors and just doing the following:

1. Firstly, I usually go to my copy of this book and locate my troubling body part on the 'Plantar Foot Map', which show the reflex areas for each organ and part of my body.

2. Secondly, I look up the specific massage technique(s) recommended for healing that body part and organ within the book.

3. Finally, I use some Olive Oil (by itself or mixed with a soothing essential oil like peppermint oil or rosemary oil) and massage the corresponding reflex area on my feet at least twice a day for 3 or 7 or 21 days straight.

Our bodies heal themselves while we sleep, so I always ensure that I do at least one of the massages just before I go to bed and my body has never let me down - It heals itself!

@farrerdonna: ferrerdonna, that's exactly what reflexology does - takes health care out of the doctors' hands and puts it in your own hands. After all. It is YOUR body! Do try it VERY soon for a totally better feeling you. I am also glad that you did some research yourself. Don't delay! The power of perfect health is in YOUR hands & feet. Thanks for visiting and sharing and have a very blessed week.

I have been wondering about Reflexology, I have friends that live by it! I have been reading a book called A Physician's Apology by Tom Schneider and he has convinced me that there are ways to stay and get healthy. is his site. His book is a good look into the ways we can get our health care out of Dr's hands and he talks about the ways we can feel well. Reflexology is one of those ways, I must try it!
