Christmas Gift Ideas for Picky Men

Updated on November 19, 2014
  • Don't buy fashion items. Fussy men can be quite picky about fashion and are happier choosing their own clothes and accessories.
  • Stay clear of bog standard gifts like watches and wallets. He is likely to already have a stash of these items at the back of the cupboard, destined to never be used.
  • Don't buy aftershave or fragance unless you already know what his favourite brand is. This kind of gift is very much down to personal taste and trying to find one that you think your dad will like will be a near impossible task.

  • Do buy gifts based on his hobbies. If he's a golf fanatic, then chances are he'll be happy with a golf related gift.
  • Do buy novelty gifts. Most men love a humorous gift so novelty gifts and gag gifts could bring a few laughs.

Great list! Having owned both the chillsner and the whisky stones, drinking accessories are a great present to receive in my opinion. A very memorable gift I received from a co-worker was these drink chiller (for me, whisky) called 'balls of steel'. Having giggled just at the name of it, it was wonderful gift! It was like a gag gift but the product was very beneficial. Just putting my two cents in!

Hi Torrs13. Yeah, if we had unlimited finances we'd all have no problem finding that perfect gift! Hope you find a collectible car that your boyfriend doesn't own yet.

My boyfriend is a big car fanatic so I'm going to have to get creative this year and find something that he would like. He has tons of collectible cars so maybe I will have to find one that he doesn't have yet. Too bad I don't have the extra money lying around to buy him a Maserati!

Some men don't like novelty gifts and some do. For the ones who do, I go to ThinkGeek to find them something. For the ones who don't, I usually buy them food, whether it's their favourite food or dinner out. A most interesting read and voted awesome!

Good ideas! For the picky man or the man who has everything, I like the idea of a novelty or gag gift. Practical gifts are good, too, when we know what they can use. Neat hub. Sharing this one!
