Do certain foods go with certain holidays?

When you think of the 4th of July, you think of food. Great food. And lots of it. I am not being anti-patriotic, but I always envision a hot grill with someone with grilling-skills standing there watching those tasty steaks, burgers, baby-back ribs, hotdogs and chicken quarters cooking slowly driving my friends and I mad with hunger.

Hey, do not start acting like this has never happened to you. It happens to all of us around July 4th and that's how it's been for many years.

These people are having a great time at their 4th of July party.

4th of July dining makes me depressed.

When I was a kid, my family and I could not afford the foods that families enjoy today on July 4th. We were so happy if we could have a big juicy watermelon to cut and maybe a water bucket full of homemade lemonade. I kid you not.

But now I give you a stern notice about foods, what to get and what not to get to feed your gang when the 4th of July rolls around. I do not want you, my valued-followers, to be embarrassed or sick with food poisoning.

So now sit back and enjoy . . .
