One ancient day, to Bethlehem,

a jewel was sent from heaven's door,

A precious child, so sweet and mild,

was placed on an earthen floor.

He was the Christ Child promised then,

and to be savior of mankind,

The search for Him was great and long,

yet, no evil could, but find.

On a Christmas Day, then so long ago,

the world received the king,

The God of wisdom, gave our gift,

for peace and happiness to bring.

The Wise men searched and found the babe,

there a treasure to behold,

He would grow and save the world,

as in the scriptures, was foretold.

This precious child in Mary's arms,

and there by father Joseph's side,

Soon to travel afar, over Egypt's sands,

for baby Jesus' birth to hide.

This child would grow up strong and brave,

and by our forgiveness, to save,

Those from their sinful life of woe,

and there, for us all, His life He gave.

Such beauty in those scriptures, is this story,

of its great worth, as so told,

So truthful to be founded, of His glory,

then of a life more valued than gold.

Our precious gifts at Christmas time,

all do reflect and so honor His name,

By the wise men given and by Christ's own life,

in respect, we do the same.
