A Christmas medley of song and celebration

Christmas songs

Christmas is a special time of year where we rejoice in the birth of Jesus and celebrate with our family and loved ones. It is a time where we get to appreciate the spirit and wonders of the holiday and get to enjoy the festivities, the company of others and the beautiful music we have come to know and love since we were children waiting to be visited by Santa on that special night of Christmas eve.

The beauties of the Christmas season is that holiday cheer and a feeling of goodwill. A big part of the holiday spirit and joy celebrated is derived from music. Christmas music is special because it makes you smile and laugh and celebrate and it reminds you of your childhood and spending times with your family.

The list of Christmas songs are endless and there are all types of songs. There are the traditional Christmas songs and there are the songs that are sung for kids who are anticipating Santa's visit. The most popular Christmas song for kids and my all-time favorite is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I remember that song since I was a little kid and my mom would sing it to us on Christmas eve. When I think back to my childhood I always had pleasant memories of the Christmas season and enjoyed spending the holidays with my family and visiting with relatives. I always remember our grandma would have her turn table playing all the festive Christmas songs like Jingle Bells, Joy to the World, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and White Christmas to name a few.

A kid always enjoys listening to music and of all the holidays we celebrate, Christmas is the most celebrated with songs and caroling. The waiting for Santa and the anticipation of opening our presents under the Christmas tree is more special when we have our favorite Christmas songs playing. There are so many to choose from that are for kids of all ages. If I were to provide a list of my favorite songs for the holiday, it would be a medley of songs that looks like this.

My Christmas Medley would include these songs that are my most favorite and I'll list them as follows.

#1- Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
#2- Jingle Bells
#3- We Wish You a Merry Christmas
#4- Santa Claus is Coming to Town

#11- Most Wonderful Time of the Year
#12- Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
#13- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
#14- Merry Christmas to You
#15- Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
#16- Feliz Navidad
#17- Silver Bells
#18- Holly Jolly Christmas

#26- You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch
#27- Dominic, the Christmas Donkey
#28- Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
#29- The Little Drummer Boy
#30- Last Christmas

This is the list of my songs that I enjoy at Christmas time and I could probably add another 100 songs to it but I'll leave that for another time. I'm sure each and every one of us have our own list of favorite Christmas songs.

I also enjoy watching holiday movies and one of my favorite Christmas movies is How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The song that I like is "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch". Another movie I like that has Christmas cheer with music is Santa Clause with that wonderful song Santa Claus is coming to town.

In the spirit of Christmas from our house to your house we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with plenty of music and the company of family.
