A Christmas of Miracles Do You Believe?
Little Addie sat in her hospital room, feeling alone and scared. She was only six years old. She was sick she had something called Leukemia plus tumors in her head. She couldn’t understand much about it but it made her throw up where she could hardly walk.
It was Christmas time and everyone was happy having fun except her Mom and little brother. Little brother couldn’t understand why she couldn’t come home. Her mom was trying not to cry but Addie could see the tears.
At night Addie would look up to heaven and wish and pray to the God and a friend name Jesus. Wondering what can He do? In Sunday school she was told about Him, and she saw her mom praying to Him a lot but she just didn’t understand what He could do.
All the treatments have made her lose her hair. She now wore hats and scarfs… Everyone around her smiled but she saw the tears.
People from the church came to see them.. They brought food and toys and lots of love. But they didn’t make her well.
The sting of death
Have many to come
To the door of mercy
That follows of thee
As those never filled with worries
Ones of fairy tales
That would weave us stories
While visions change
As life decides to arrange
While their laughter that is bursting with flavor
While finally it’s time to say goodbye
Lots of people from the church came to pray over her. The Preacher and his wife smiled and believed. Her mother sang some very sweet songs. Addie sat back in amazement was so relieved.
Addie smiled so softly and whispered
"Oh Mom, It’s not the end
But the start of a brand new day!
New thoughts from our hearts
Through a sea of yearning still
Just think me close to home today
Picture me by your side
With lots of bits of love
Where there is no more misery
And loneliness disappears
And you will know I am near
I know I am locked in your heart
You will never be alone from the start!"
God had other intentions for Addie. He reached down and touched her head, made the tumors disappear, then He touched her little body and cancer in her stomach was gone.
The people cheered and the doctors were amazed.
Christmas day was here and Santa had come to visit. With lots of toys galore and lots of food.. But Addie wanted to take her toys and food to those children she had met, the ones that their parents had no money to buy food or toys. She had seen the saddest and her heart broke for them.
Addie might have been only six years old but she knew what God wanted her to do. To help all the other children that she could.
They were sitting around the Christmas tree, singing about Jesus. The hope she had in her heart. The love for all of mankind that Jesus taught and the Mercy he gave.
Merry Christmas to all
And to all a good night!
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
To all my sweet friends on the Hub, my heart hurts that everyone is so sad and discouraged. I have to admit I have felt the same way, and I guess still do. But we must not give up hope and we must continue to love, and not hate.
There will probably be a lot of people that get mad at me for writing this, but I want you to know you are loved.
This is a true story.. Her real name is Lucy!.. She is precious.
