A Christmas tale of two kitties! Chapter One

Updated on December 14, 2010

Calico and Fluffy, were born into a poor black cat family. Their mother, Betty, was coal black with large yellow eyes. Their father, Tony, was tiger looking cat with a large fluffy mane and a poofy coat of greyish black fur.

They were born in a manger of a small stable, on October 31st, along with 5 siblings. Since Betty had not eaten much during her pregnancy, she was unable to properly feed all her babies and one by one they dried up and passed on to the great litterbox in the sky. Calico and Fluffy were able to cling to life, and gradually they began to grow and thrive as their mother was able to catch some skinny old mice to help her produce enough milk for them to get by on.

November leads to December as it always has and the kitties grew stronger and curiousor as kitties will do. Their curiousity led them to an outside world that was neither gentle nor kind. Unfortunately during one their forays, they caught the attention of the child of the stable's operator. Billy was a bad kid, a bully if you will and he had killed many a small animal with his tortuous ways. He smiled a devilish smile when he spied the 2 kitties and schemed a scheme to catch them and have his way with the 2 pussycats.

He brought out a saucer of milk to tantalize them, but they were very cautious! They had never seen such a strange creature before and all their senses screamed caution! Billy was nothing if not persistent, so he enlisted the help of his buddy, Pat. Together they tagteamed the pussycats. One would pull a string along the ground to get their attention and another would throw them pieces of cheese to tempt their hunger. Billy and Pat's persistence paid off! The kitties grew less cautious, more curious, and more tempted. Mostly driven by hunger, they finally started eating the cheese and drinking the milk. After a few days, they came to expect the treats and even started playing with the string! Poor Calico and Fluffy, they had been taken in! Billy and Pat finally had them where they wanted them!

While Calico and Fluffy were voraciously lapping up the milk, they were keeping one eye on Billy while he stood several feet away directly in front of them. Unbeknownst to them however, Pat was sneaking up behind them. He lunged at them and swooped them both up by the scruff of their necks. Eureka! He had them! They spat and hissed and meowed most sadly, but Pat hung on til Billy came over to take Fluffy off his hands. The boys had not made any formal plans on what torture they would inflict on the poor helpless kitties, but as they held them, several options flashed evily through their minds!

That was a nice tale of trickery, as it represented Christmas ever so nicely; too bad for the kittens, though...
