A Lot To Be Thankful For
We’ve got so much to be thankful for. Sometimes I think we forget that even on Thanksgiving. We spend so much time slaving over a hot stove to prepare a meal for our family. Everything comes full circle during the holidays. We should be thankful for everyday we are given; not just celebrate what are thankful for just one day out of the year. I admit, last night, I was writing a Thanksgiving message to post on Hubpages that eventually turned nasty and prideful once I mentioned being thankful for my enemies. I am thankful for them, but my experience with them was so painful that I began to vent and get upset. I realize now that I shouldn’t start off Thanksgiving that way.
All Because Of A Text Message
We've Got More Than We Think
The whole point of this new message is that we should keep in our minds and in our hearts the things that truly matter. Today is a special day and not allowing things from the past to upset you today is definitely something to celebrate. We are a different person every year. So if we are still stuck in the past then we’ll be falling behind in the future and have gotten nowhere. You need to be thankful for a ll the good as well as the bad because it shapes you as a person. I am thankful I wrote the other message, but that is just for myself. I may even delete it. But, it is a reminder of who I used to be and that I shouldn’t let it continue.
Even though it is not the New Year yet, we should begin everyday like it is. We should think of something new to do everyday like try a new food, say hi to people maybe even hold a decent conversation with a stranger. I live in Los Angeles and there are people here who have kind hearts. I’ve met them. Iowa (my hometown) is full of them, especially in Sioux City where I was raised. There is snow there right now and people are still cheerful.
As a society, we don’t realize how much we miss out on because we let our anger take control of us. We let it do so once we realize that we have no control over other people. It’s frustrating, yes. But, just because we give someone a slap on the hand for doing something wrong doesn’t mean they are going to stop doing it. They may not ever stop, but why let that ruin our day? We already made that choice to let it ruin our day because we are allowing it to bother us. You don’t learn by making the right decisions, you learn by making the wrong ones. So let’s all celebrate Thanksgiving by eating turkey; not acting like one!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
