Merry Christmas Party Planner
Final Days Before Christmas
Final Shopping Day:
This is the perfect time to go over your party list one more time and do not forget to check the gift list one more time, to make sure that you haven't left anyone out. Make sure that you have adequate food depending on the type of party that you are hosting.
I would not advise making a new recipe for the first time if you are having company. What if it does not turn out the way that you planned? It would be a good idea to stick with those staple recipes. That means, I would only make recipes that I have made in the past.. There are a couple of desserts that I could think of that are always popular during Christmas. One is red velvet cake. This bright red cake and bright white icing are made for Christmas. It really brings out the spirit of Christmas.
If you are having a themed party, this themed party will determine the menu but, don't forget to consider who's coming to your party. They may have certain food allergies. The Christmas season can be a very hectic time for the stores. It is good to get to the store early to get the best deals and to get items that you want before they sell off the shelf. Have foods that your guests will be familiar with. You don't have to get so fancy and expensive. You can fix simple foods that are inexpensive. These simple recipes can make a lot of food and will not break the bank. One thing that you could make for an appetizer would be twice baked potatoes. A house salad for the salad course. The strawberry salad with the pretzels on the bottom would make a good side dish or a dessert item.
Television orders should be placed, shipped and these orders are to be picked up and wrapped by this time. Remember people get wild on this day so be very prepared when you leave the house. The traffic is bad and so are grocery and retail stores.
Prepare Your Home:
After reviewing your list and getting a final count. Be sure that you have adequate seating, food, silverware and serving ware. Any decorating that is going to be done for Christmas should be done before this time as you will want your guests to see them.
Make sure that you home is very clean for your guests. This will let your guests know how much you appreciate them. Plus, it makes you feel good to get all the compliments on your decorations, your home and food. Always vacuum, sweep and do all general cleaning to prepare for your guests. Do not feel overwhelmed in any way. If you need extra help assign chores or duties to your kids or your spouse.
Drink and Food Preparation:
As far as alcohol is concerned, have plenty of champagne and you and yours will be ringing in the new year, with a toast.
Make sure that the food is ready at the appropriate time, depending on the type of party that you having. If it is a formal sit down dinner, you may have soup or salad and then the main course and followed by the dessert course.
Always serve plenty of appetizers before the main course to keep everyone satisfied before the main meal. Also, holiday punch and fruit cakes are always great additions to any party revolving around Christmas. Keep silverware and dishes nice and shiny for all your guests.
Setting an Elegant Table:
I always start with a Christmas red or green or a Christmas table runner. I bring out my Christmas dishes. First putting down the dinner plate, then saucer, with the soup bowl on top. I will then have the coffee cup, and drinking glasses. and dessert dishes. I love to cook and would love to host a sit down dinner.
An easy centerpiece for your table is to get pine branches, holly bushes with red berries and pine cones. Then, you will just need candles such as red, green, silver and gold. Arrange the pine branches with the holly. Then place the centerpiece on the center of the table.
You can make the table as simple or more elegant by switching up on the candles. Ask your children to help you set the table. This will show them how to sit at a nice meal. You an show them the different forks and spoons. Also, you could teach them about different courses This is a job for an adult.to do if you wo uld like it done correctly anyway. Remember to say your prayers and enjoy your holiday meal.
I hope that you will share any Christmas holiday ideas that you have with me by leaving comments in the capsule located at the bottom of this page.
