Spooky Tunes for Your Halloween Party

Halloween Mood Music

I love every thing about Halloween, from the cool, crisp air and the crunch of fallen leaves, to the scary costumes, trick or treaters, and countless parties. As I am decorating my home and yard and preparing the treats for our parties, I love to play Halloween music to help get me in the mood. In a strange way, it's like playing Christmas carols to get into the Christmas spirit.

There are plenty of Halloween party CDs out there that play eerie sounds such as creaking doors, screams, and ghostly moans, and these are great for playing in your haunted houses. However I prefer playing eerie music at the actual party gathering. It adds a creepy element to any party and it's just plain fun. The most effective way to use Halloween sounds or music is through a well-hidden CD player. As the creepy sounds fill the air, they seem that much more authentic when you can't see exactly from where they are coming.

If you are looking for great music as opposed to simply scary sounds, consider surfing iTunes. Here you can find spooky themes from some of the scariest movies in history including the Halloween series, The Amityville Horror, Children of the Corn, Dracula and more. These tunes will help to create the most sensational backdrop for your haunted Halloween parties. It is worth noting that my list includes Robert Walsh's Theme from Poltergeist, however the link to that video is no longer available.

The following are a few of my favorites. I hope you enjoy them!

Happy Hauntings!

Halloween Theme by John Carpenter

Theme from Children of the Corn by Robert Walsh

Bram Stoker's Dracula: The Beginning by 101 Strings Orchestra

Exorcist Theme/ Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield

Theme from The Fog by John Carpenter

Theme from The Amityville Horror by Robert Walsh

Secret by The Pierces

I Put a Spell on You by Marilyn Manson

Cool Halloween music and the best thing about this hub is that the songs were not the usual suspects!
