In Malaysia, Mother's Day is a widely observe event although it is not a public holiday. It does not makes any different to us because Mother's Day is always celebrated on Sunday yearly.

Since it falls on a weekend, most children, whether adults or young children, are able to spend the time to celebrate Mother's Day in a grand way. Majority adults give their mother a treat in fancy restaurant accompanied with a bouquet of flowers or a stalk of rose.

Children have the same idea, make their own handmade Mother's Day cards and give it to their mom personally with an additional big warm hug and lots of kisses.

Why do you celebrate Mother's Day

Every child knows that a mother is the most valueable gift from God, who had spent almost three quarter (3/4) of her life, dedicated to her family, ensure everyone is well fed, sick children taken care of, fetching kids to and from schools, tuition centres, keeping the home spick and span and having a 9 to 5 job daily with bundles of hectic schdule to bear in mind.

Although we may hear mom's constant nagging and repetition advices, we know that she meant well for us, for our own good. Nevertheless, mom is always there for her children to give them a shoulder to cry on when they are feeling down due to pressure from homework or school studies, work problems with boss or workmates, difficulties in love or puppy love and family breakdown or misunderstandings.

Mom is the true guidance in our life, she knows what to say at the right time. She has the sixth sense that Dad doesn't even know. All mothers in the whole wide world are the same, mom loves her children more than she loves herself.

Express Your Love

On Mother's Day, gather all your courage and tell your mom how much you love her. Do not feel embarass or shy.

If you can say "I love you" to the man of your life, then you should be able to pick up your courage to say "I love you" to your mom who is worth much more than anybody else.

Some people may feel uneasy, uncomfortable to say these words verbally or face to face. I had this kind of feeling too. I felt there is no need to express myself to my mom because I know deep inside her heart she already knew I loved her. Most of the time, I pacified myself that it is not necessary, just wish her a "Happy Mother's Day" will suffice.

However, do you know to express your love to mom gives you a different kind of feelings?

Look at your mom reaction. Your mom will feel very happy, contented. She may smile, give you a big warm hug, shed a couple of tears of joy, or perhaps a little pat at the back of your hand, acknowledging your love in return.

Do it before it is too late

When I first told my mom "I love you", it was too late.

She was half paralysed due to stroke. I deeply regretted why I did not take the opportunity to say these beautiful words to her earlier when she was healthy and strong.

For the past thirty years of my life, I had so many chances to express my love for her on any occasion; Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Birthdays, but I failed to do so due to so called" embarrassment".

It is no use to cry over split milk. Sometimes I wondered, whether she understood what I had said, how important she is to me, how much she meant to me and how much I loved her.

She was the pillar of hope and love of my life.

Express your love with Mother's Day quotes or poems

Therefore, make this year Mother's Day extra special by making your own handmade gifts, handmade Mother's Day card and remember to include Mother's Day quotes or poems for your dear mom.

Take this golden opportunity to say "I love you, mom" before it is too late. Don't make anymore unreasonable excuses for yourself.

Arrange your schdule ahead for the day.Make a surprise trip to visit her, give her your handmade gifts and Mother's Day card personally. Remember to say "Happy Mother's Day and I love you, mom". It is just as simple as that.

If you are still hesitant, your lips still remain shut when you meet your mom, write them down in your handmade Mother's Day card, along with a Mother's Day quote or poem that you like.

I am sure your mom does not mind even though you didn't purchase a store bought card or branded handbags. All she cares is you.

Most of us are not good at words, don't know what to say or how to express ourselves to our mom how we feel. Thereto, Mother's Day quotes and poems are the best way to help us to express our feelings and thoughts in wonderful inspirational words.

Send a SMS to your mom with any of these quotes or poems if you are too busy with work or living overseas. Your presence is important to her but due to certain circumstances that you may not be able to come, Mother's Day quotes or poems would be the best medicine to comfort your mom's heart.

My favorite quote

To be honest, I do admire these authors , famous people and poets for having such good brains.

They have the great abilities to compose beautiful quotes and poems in just one or two sentences, which coincidentally matches what wanted to say to our mom.

Creative, tactful manner and sound so profounding.

I love this quote very much, "Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever." by unknown Author. My mom held on my hand when I was young until I was an adult. However, my mom is always in my heart and my mind wherever I go. I guess that is the magical thing about a mother's love.

So, do give your mom an everlasting impression by using any of the below wonderful quotes or poems which will bring her precious memories in each every year.

Wishing all mothers a 'Happy Mother's Day"

Best Mother's Day Poems

Without You

Mom, without you, there would be no me.
Your love, your attention, your guidance,
have made me who I am.
Without you, I would be lost,
wandering aimlessly,
without direction or purpose.
You showed me the way
to serve, to accomplish, to persevere.
Without you, there would be an empty space
I could never fill, no matter how I tried.
Instead, because of you,
I have joy, contentment, satisfaction and peace.
Thank you, mom.
I have always loved you
and I always will.

"I Love You"
I" love you,"
said a great mother.
"I love you for what you are
knowing so well what you are.
And I love you more yet, child,
deeper yet than ever, child,
for what you are going to be,
knowing so well you are going far,
knowing your great works are ahead,
ahead and beyond,
yonder and far over yet."

“God Made a Wonderful Mother”
God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old.
He made her smile out of sunshine,
And He molded her heart out of gold.
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars.
In her cheeks, fair roses, you see.
God made a wonderful mother;
And he gave that dear mother to me.

“I Love You Mother”
I Love You Mother
You are so special and kind
And I love you so
You helped to build my mind
And I want you to know.
The thought of you by me
Just makes me smile.
We are so close
Forever and not just a while.
I appreciate you mother
And I love all your style.

by Nicole Ruddock

“As I Look Back...
As I look back on my life
I find myself wondering...
Did I remember to thank you
for all that you have done for me?
For all of the times you were by my side
to help me celebrate my successes
and accept my defeats?
Or for teaching me the value of hard work,
good judgement, courage, and honesty?
I wonder if I've ever thanked you
for the simple things...
The laughter, smiles, and quiet times we've shared?
If I have forgotten to express my gratitude
For any of these things,
I am thanking you now...
and I am hoping that you've known all along,
how very much you are loved and appreciated.

Mother's Day Verses Can Be Use for Cards

Verse No.1

Somehow we always say the least
to those we love the best
And hope our thoughts
are understood.
Although they're unexpressed -
That's why it means
so very much,
when days like this are here
To say how very much
you're loved
each day throughout the year.

Happy Mother's Day

Verse No.2

Mom, you know you're more than welcome
to come over to my place for dinner,
but there's one little problem...
...all the food I have needs to be cooked.

Happy Mother's Day

Verse No.3

I want to thank you, Mother,
for your patience...
your encouragement...
your strength...
your generosity...
your unswerving love...
and for those six little words
that helped me through
so many trying times...
"...because I said so, that's why!"

Happy Mother's Day

Verse No.4

May all the love
you give to others
come back to you

Only a mother
can communicate love
without saying a word.

      M-O-T-H-E-R

“M” is for the million things she gave me,

“O” means only that she’s growing old,

“T” is for the tears she shed to save me,

      “H” is for her heart of purest gold;

“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,

“R” means right, and right she’ll always be,

Put them all together, they spell “MOTHER,”

A word that means the world to me

It is sad that you didn't had the chance to dance with your mom. I am sure she understands how you feel. Pray to her and talk to her. She will feel happy too.

Your hub makes me remember - my mother Daisy died in 2000 and I miss celebrating Mother's Day with her. She was born on the very day the Titanic hit the iceberg - April 14, 1912. I recently wrote a little story about the fact I never danced with her - all sons should dance with their mother - I didn't.
