      Hi Amanda

Being an Ox is not all that bad. At least you will be travelling and your little girl will meet her grandparents. Rememeber towards the middle to the end of the year things will level out and your finances should experience the lift that you want. Glossy emigration refers to possible illustrious migration or flight.

      Hi Errol

The element of fire is yang as is the element of metal, therefore it may be a bit battle for you this year, particularly as your element is destructive to the metal element, but it is possible to overcome provided you avoid confrontation, can discern when someone is trying to pull the wool over your eyes!

Ah the insanity of Chinese New Years celebrations!!

There is nothing quite like it in the world. I lived in China for 2 years 2007 + 2008 years of the Pig, fire.

I never knew that there could be so many fireworks. I was in the little town of Chengdu, pop 12 million, and the fireworks went off nonstop 24 hours a day for pretty much a month. But going to the great temple, I don’t actually know the name, on the official New Year’s Eve was amazing. People placed incense and candles on the alter until it was full, then they placed them as close as they could, and finally it all melted together into a huge fire and people got as close as they could and threw them. By the end of the night the fire was the size of a 3 story house.

If you don’t like fireworks stay out of China, but if you do as I do, there is nothing like it. For an American just imagine the grand finally of a 4th of July display. But imagine it all around you in every direction as far as you can see from sunset to sunrise.

The Chinese believe that the fortunes of the coming year depend on how much noise you make during the New Years celebration and everyone from toddler to great grandparents make as much as they can. Amazingly I never saw any injuries or fires resulting from it all.

I don’t know how lucky the year will be for the rabbits given the fondness the Chinese have for rabbit heads. They are tasty!
