Put An Angel Ornament On Your Christmas Tree

Are you looking for a Christmas Tree Angel? If so you've come to the right place as we have angel ornaments and angel tree toppers just waiting to adorn your Christmas tree.

Angels have been associated with Christmas since one told Mary that she would give birth to the son of God, this is why an angel on your Christmas tree really helps to celebrate the holidays.

On a personal note we always used to have an angel on top of our tree in fact when I was growing up everyone had either an angel or a star, there wasn't any other choices available. This is why I'm going to look at Angel Christmas Tree Toppers first.

Angel Christmas Tree Toppers

As a child I always used to think that having an angel on top of our Christmas tree meant that she would watch over our gifts after Santa had left them and ensure that they were safe until we got to unwrap them!

In reality an Angel tree topper really became a fashion statement in Victorian Britain when Queen Victoria put an angel on top of her Christmas tree at Windsor Castle.

Queen Victoria was a huge trend setter and other members of Britain's aristocracy followed her lead by placing angels on top of their tree too. Next it moved to the Middle Classes until the trend gradually over the years was encompassed by all of the classes.

The angel is said to represent the host of angels from the Nativity who heralded Jesus' birth and the true meaning of Christmas. Amongst all of the commercialism of Christmas it can be hard to remember that we're celebrating the birth of Jesus with this holiday and so adding an Angel tree topper can help us to remember that.

Angel Christmas Tree Ornaments

I really don't remember a large variety of the different types of Christmas tree ornaments that we have today being around for my childhood. Basically we seemed to have mainly Christmas balls, I certainly never saw an angel Christmas tree ornament (except for the toppers) when I was growing up. These days however they are very popular and you can add just a couple or a whole Angel themed Christmas tree.

There are some absolutely beautiful Angel Christmas ornaments to choose from that you can buy, but there are also lots of different free designs for making your own angel Christmas ornaments.

I have a friend who has two Christmas trees every year and one of them is reserved for all of her angel Christmas ornaments - it is absolutely gorgeous and it also solves the question as to what to buy her for Christmas. A new angel Christmas ornament will always be appreciated!

You have reminded me of my childhood when we, a sharecropper's family, were in awe of our first REAL Christmas tree with those huge lights that are impossible now to find.

But THE best memory was the angel that my mom put on top of the tree. I do not know where she got it or how, but YOU have taken me back to those years.

      I appreciate you a lot.

Great perspective. Angel ornaments can be a beautiful way to help us remember the truths about Christ's birth. Voted up.

We use a star to remind us of the Star of Bethlehem, but we do have some angel themed decorations.
