Coca Cola Christmas Ornaments

Updated on November 24, 2011

I love the Coca Cola Christmas decorations. Where else can you find Jolly ol St Nick Guzzling down a Coke. Some people consider the introduction of the Coke Santa as the beginning of the Christmas Season.

The Coca cola Santa in fact shaped our vision of Santa. This soft drink company took the original drawing from Thomas Nast and developed into the Santa Claus we know today. Santa Claus was used as a campaign as a way to get people to buy soft drinks in the winter. Originally it was thought to be a summer time drink. This company believed they could make wintertime sales by associating their product with a winter time icon. In 1930 artwork was developed showcasing a "Twas the Night Before Christmas " inspired Santa drinking his favorite beverage. This artwork has not only helped invent the image of Santa but inspired many Coca Cola Christmas ornaments as well.

Also featured here are the Coke Bear Ornaments as well as newer ornaments for 2010.

Hmm, so that's why I feel sort of "Christmasy" when I drink a coke! (I think Coca Cola has done a pretty thorough job using winter and polar themes and symbols in their ads.)
