Creative Halloween Decor: "Disney Villains"...A Pictorial Journal
Use your imagination to create an evening of fun
My daughter's friend, Penny, wanted to do something extra special her and the family this year. She sat down with my Stef and they brain-stormed ideas to create a fun-filled atmosphere for a haunting evening of laughter and spine-tingling experiences. Penny made this her gift to Stef, Heston Wayne, Jay, Tracy, and the Home School Group.
Choosing the theme
Penny and Stef chatted at length trying to determine a theme for the evening. And since Stef is a huge fan of all-things-Disney it came as no surprise that she chose Disney Villains as her theme. There was very little on the internet that was strictly a Halloween theme around these villains. That really was a good thing so she and Penny could really make it their own. You will see they that is just what they did as you read the notes and view the photos.
Step inside for an evening of chills and thrills
The entrance foreshadows what's to come
Night has fallen--- a little shudder was felt as we walked up to the door.
Setting the stage out of doors
A little draping turns a palm tree into something creepy
Another peek at the palm tree...can you hear the clanging of the chain??
"Safe" party candles
Safety first...homemade candles
Making your own candles is a 'good thing' for several reasons. One of the most obvious and important reasons is safety. With all of the little werewolves and villains running about, it just makes good sense. Another reason to make them is it is an activity you can do with your children. A fun time to create and involve your kidoes in the preparation for party day.
What it takes for candles
To make these candles, you need toilet tissue rolls, paper towel rolls, paint, brush, glue gun, and tiny tea lights are placed atop the base.. You can use spray paint if desired. After painting paper towel and toilet tissue rolls, allow them to dry. Then assemble as you desire gluing as needed.

"Hoping you have a spine-tingling evening."
Just the spot to gather round for a spooky story.
"Watch your back....I just may creep up behind you!"

A nod to autumn adds another festive touch
Natural additions bring autumn into the home.
Choosing just the right pumpkins is another fun activity for you and your family. They add an interesting feeling of fall and can be turned into delightful dishes later. The tiny lights inside the fireplace light up the area in a subtle way and are another safe choice as opposed to real candles.
What fun...gather around while Mr. Skelly serenades everyone
"Do you hear my teeth chattering? Move in closer!"
A little webbing on the ceiling adds more flair.
Awaiting all who dare to step up for a treat.
Who wouldn't want to reach onto this table for a treat?
Will little skeleton bones reach out as one reaches for a treat??
Sssh..not too close!!
The four posters below are some that were printed for this evening. The writings were added by Penny and my daughter. What a great way to showcase the stars of the evening. Notice that some portions of the posters were burned to add even more eye-catching appeal.

Cruella's villainous nature revealed..she's kind of the character one loves to despise!

No one will really get 'shocked' at this spot! Poor fishy...he got too close!
Attention to detail makes your Halloween-scape memorable and captivating
Taking time to add special touches converts a room into a mysterious, enchanting land of unexpected adventure . Cobwebs liberally placed in corners including up to the ceiling hints that a creepy-crawly may pop down at any moment. Having skeletons and skeleton bones here and there is a reminder that it is an evening of mystery. Create your own extra special touches when you plan your celebration this year.
An attention-getter as night fell
Lighting brings new life to the entire venue
Lighting up areas inside and outside of your staging area turns ordinary into extraordinary. The lighting does not need to be flashy or ultra-bright unless that is what you desire. Subtle lighting helps to showcase the areas that are decorated. The palm tree and the doorway were accented with lighting so that when night fell and shadows were cast, a feeling of mystery and quiet expectation crept into the minds of all who arrived.
Approach with care..
A haunting little ditty
Step carefully ...who knows what is lurking here.
Planning for fun
There is really no wrong way to bring a hauntingly, fun-filled atmosphere to life at your place for Halloween. Let your imagination run wild...brainstorm with your friends and family. To save money plan ahead. Shop thrift stores, yard sales, flea markets, and dollar stores throughout the year. Make some of your own props too. This can be a great way to spend time with your family. Have a really good time and happy haunting.
Creamy, yummy pumpkin soup and other goodies
Before you decide to discard your pumpkins consider making pumpkin bread, muffins, pie, and soup from them. A few weeks ago I made a most glorious pumpkin soup with a pumpkin I purchased right in my grocery store. It was divine. I hope to share it with you soon. And do not forget to save the seeds and bake them.
