Easter Gift Ideas for Kids

Updated on March 4, 2012

I don't know about you, but at my house, we always get gifts for Easter. They used to be little things that fit in an Easter basket, but over time that has changed. We still put little things in the baskets, but there's always one bigger, major gift. I don't know how this happened, and it certainly isn't necessary, but I get the feeling mine isn't the only house where this happens! Mostly it's for the kids, though. My bigger kids (actually grownups), get gift cards, but the grandkids get a gift. So, the same old dilema. . . . .what do we get this year???

For us, first and foremost, Easter is about Christ; His death and resurrection. We are a Christian family, and the Easter bunny isn't going to overshadow that. We've always made it very clear to our kids what Easter is really all about. But realistically, the little ones just can't resist that Easter basket. So we are back to the gift question again!

Personalized Gift Ideas for Younger Kids

I don't know why, but I always try to go for a personalized gift on Easter. Actually, I like personalized gifts anytime, but especially on Easter! There are absolutely tons of gifts that can be personalized, both for little kids and big kids.

Just an aside here. They can't really be considered gifts, but don't you adore Easter clothes for the little ones! I love the monogrammed outfits with their initials or names intermingled with the bunnies and chicks! And this isn't just for girls. Baby and toddler boys have some really cute clothes to choose from. This coming from a grandmother of one granddaughter, and (anytime now) three grandsons!!!

There are many, many bibs, onsies, and little t-shirts that have the "My First Easter" theme. So consider these as a gift, since at this age, the gift is really for the Mom anyway!

As the kids get a little older, there are personalized stuffed animals (bunnies are really popular at Easter), puzzles and coloring books with their name, Easter themed personalized bowls and plates, and even personalized books and cd's. The books might tell a tale of the Easter bunny with your child's name sprinkled throughout. These books are so neat, and come in a huge variety of stories. There are even personalized books for teenagers!

Personalized Gifts for Older Kids

Again, you can find the personalized books for all ages. Also, older kids like the personalized picture frames. These come in all sorts of themes, and can be personalized very easily. Another thought for the teens would be the personalized iphone and ipad covers. They really get into their electronics, so any type of cover for those would be a great idea.

Personalized Bibles are a wonderful and thoughtful gift, particularly for Easter. As are the personalized lockets, charms, crosses, and key chains.

There are purses, and wallets, and backpacks, and lunchboxes, and totes. . . . all can be personalized!

I can go on and on!!! Honestly, if you are interested in this type of gift, you can get a lot more information by checking out the link below.

I just really believe kids of all ages especially appreciate a personalized gift. Little ones just love to see their names, and older ones like the fact that you took the extra time and thought necessary to find something personalized.

I haven't gone into the homemade gifts you can give. Maybe I'll do that later!
