FIVE THINGS YOU SHOULD NOT DO THIS CHRISTMAS!!!
Ahh yes! It is that time of the year again.Everyone is happy, the streets are colorful, you can hear children's laughter from all corners of the streets and even your grumpy neighbor even makes time to wish you a Merry Christmas. It is that time of the year where everyone is ready to party, enjoy themselves and simply be the best they can be. Christmas is indeed a merry season but sometimes we can do things on this holiday we end up regretting as we are ushering the new year. Here are five things not to do on Christmas.
1. DO NOT OVER SPEND
People spend alot during this time on gifts, holiday trips, family gatherings, and hosting parties. Sometimes we can spend way over the budget to the point of borrowing credit or maxing out our credit cards. Remember that life continues after Christmas, bills need to be paid, kids need to go to school and you still need money for your personal upkeep. Don't be stingy but at the same time be money wise.
2. NO ONE NIGHT STANDS
You may still be single but that doesn't mean you have to sleep with the first guy or lady who comes courting on Christmas. So what if you don't have a date! Christmas is not the end of the world! One night stands during Christmas can get a bit weird because it is likely that this person is a friend of your brother, sister or one of your relatives so you may be bumping into each other more often that you want to. It gets akward having to pretend that nothing ever happened and the worst part is that the other person may not even 'like' you anymore.
3. NO SHOWING OFF
Showing off is very common during Christmas especially among competitive families and co-workers. People want to rub it in other people's noses how much they have had the best year than anyone else. Sometimes this bragging gets annoying.Yes you may have bought a huge mansion, drive the latest luxury cars, brushed shoulders with the high and mighty, but remember what Christmas is really about. It's about celebrating a love that was given to us.It's about sharing, unity and remembering the less fortunate.
4. NO PHONE, NO FACEBOOK,TWITTER OR INSTAGRAM!
I know i may get alot of backlash from this but think about. This is the one time of the year where you should put your phone down and interact and bond with your loved ones. Give them the attention that you've denied them for that year and see how much you have probably missed in that time. You can call Christmas a kind of rehab that separates you from your virtual world ( sorry i mean social media)
5. DO NOT DRIVE WHILE DRUNK
Christmas can be a time of great joy but it can also be a time of great sadness. Many of us get wasted and still think we are good to drive. Too many fatal accidents have occured on this holiday with the main cause being druken driving. Party all you want, drink, get drunk and go crazy but be responsible for your life as well as other lives.
