"Swinton is a British {actress maybe?} but with Scottish ancestry." Scotland is still, until 2014 at least, in the union which makes these adjectives redundant. For the record, she is English, not Scottish. If you had English ancestry (and were brave/stupid enough to admit it in Scotland) would you class yourself as English?

No. London is as about as far as you're going to get while still being in the UK. Please ONLY include real Scots!

As a Scotsman i'm seeing alot of you say Sean Connery is the essential Scots actor. I disagree, the man doesn't step foot in our country, hasn't done for over 20 years. He likes to tell us how to run our country, and how to spend our money but has no intention of coming back here to live or even to visit.

The man you want to keep an eye on is Kevin McKidd. Known for roles in Small faces, Trainspotting and a a fair few Hollywood films aswell. Also in the up and coming Scots based film "Brave" :)
