Are you looking for a gift idea for someone who really loves cats? While it might not be a good idea to go pick up a new kitten to give to your favorite “cat person”, there are plenty of fun feline theme gift ideas you can choose that won’t create more work and responsibility for the friend or family member you are shopping for.

1. Cat Theme Magnet Set

Any fan of furry felines is sure to be delighted to receive a gift of heavy duty magnets with fun cat images like the ones from Shabby Apple pictured in the image to the right. The particular set of magnets pictured here features four square magnets decorated with cute cat patterns. The magnets are one-inch in diameter and can be used on refrigerators, lockers, file cabinets and other metal substances where the lucky gift recipient might need to hang photographs, papers or other items.

2. Pet Supplies or Services Gift Card

It’s no secret that taking care of pets can be quite expensive. Consider purchasing a gift card for a pet supply store, either one located in the town where the gift recipient lives or an online retailer like PetSmart or PetCo. Alternately, if you know which veterinary office the recipient uses for his or her feline companion(s), consider contacting a member of the office staff to find out if gift cards or certificates are available for pet care products or veterinary services.

3. Cat Toy Gift Basket

If the person you are shopping for has a playful kitty, consider putting together a gift basket filled with a collection of cat toys. While this gift is, of course, will be used by the cat rather than by the person you are shopping for, the recipient is sure to appreciate receiving a supply of goodies that her furry friend(s) can enjoy.

4. Cat Accessories

Consider purchasing a new collar and name tag set for your friend or loved one’s favorite feline companion(s). Choose a pretty color or pattern that reflects the taste of the gift recipient, being sure to buy the right size for his or her pet(s).

5. The New Yorker Book of All-New Cat Cartoons

Cat lovers of all ages are sure to get a kick out of this fun book featuring kitty cartoons. Any fan of felines is sure to enjoy the unique perspective presented through this funny, touching and insightful collection of feline-specific cartoons. It’s sure to become a favorite coffee table book for anyone who receives it, as well as a source of smiles and laughter for many years to come.

You could see if their vet offered gift certificates. That would be beneficial especially for an elderly person who may find money tight yet want to have the companionship of a pet.
