Gift Ideas for Grandpa's

Updated on July 25, 2012

We just celebrated my dad's 64th birthday. This year my brother and I got him tickets to see Toby Keith in concert. We lucked out because Toby is coming to town in about a month. This year was easy but most years' buying a gift for my dad is more of a challenge. I have put together a list of some successful ideas.

Sky Chair

My favorite all time gift may be the Sky Chair. This is almost like an individual hammock that you sit up in. It feels like floating. The most relaxing chair you will probably ever sit in. My father in law has two on his back deck. They are the most coveted spots in the house. I loved the chairs so much, I bought one for my dad for father's day.

Charcoal Grill/ Smoker

What guy doesn't like smoking meats? And nothing beats charcoal when it comes to grilling. The Outlaw Grill/Smoker has one of the largest grilling areas with 1,000 square inches. Grandpa would love all that room to grill up some dinner for the family.

Steak Branding Iron

While we are on the subject of grilling outdoors, what man's grill would be complete without his very own Custom 2 Initial Monogram Steak Branding Iron? While no one but a farmer actually needs their very own Branding Iron, the gifts that we wouldn't buy ourselves are usually the best.

iPod

I keep my ipod with me at all times. iPods are small and light so they are easy for anyone to carry around. Mine is stocked with audio books and music. I could not imagine going a day without it. The ipod is extremely easy to use so it will work for everyone. Some initial assistance with set up and a demonstration may be required so Grandpa can get the hang of it.

Kindle Fire

The Kindle Fire is the nestwest e-reader from Amazon. This is the first Amazon e-reader in color. It's great for older eyes since you can adjust the color, size, and font of words. It's a fun gadget for anyone to have since it has wifi capability as well as options for apps, games, movies, and music. Grandpa's can even play games with their grandkids over long distances. By downloading a multiplayer app like Words with Friends you can play a "Scrabble-Like" game with a friend who is across the country!
