Child Silhouette Gift for Mothers Day

Childs Silhouette

This colourful personalised silhouette idea came from Happy Home Fairy. This could be done with all the children at any age (or even the whole family) and would make a great special individual gift that would be kept for years to come. Think how fun it would be to do every few years to see how everyone had changed. It isn't very difficult to achieve either, just a good profile photos, nice paper and a craft knife or scissors, plus steady hands!

Handprint Canvas Gift

I think these would be so great on the wall of a family room. Make them with any coloured or patterned paper or fabric then just glue well on to canvas or strong card, you could make them to match or fit in with any home d├ęcor. This craft was found on Mod Podge Rocks website and I think it is so simple but super effective. This is another one that you could do with the whole family or multiple times over their lives to see how they have grown. It would make a great keepsake that both parents would cherish.

Flower Handprint Tote Bag

These handprint flower tote bags are a craft that even the little ones could join in on. I found it on Nifty Mom but it really is self explanatory. Canvas tote bag, paint, hands and creativity! You could personalise it further with mums name or the family name on the bottom too. Mum will be proud to carry this around with her shopping in.

Mothers Day Handmade Soap

Every mum likes to smell good, so having special handmade soap would be a great gift for Mothers Day or her Birthday really. You can find all the things you need and instructions on how to make these soaps on Kaboose. These would be great packaged in a nice little bag or box, or part of a larger bath time hamper with other handmade items, or her favourite bath products.

Fun Kids Photograph Bookmarks

Most mums love to read so these fun kids bookmarks will be a great way to make her smile every time she opens her book. This craft idea came from Come Together Kids, a blog with lots of other fun family friendly craft ideas. This is a great mothers day craft idea for school classes or after school clubs too. They can easily be made at home or school/club as you just need a camera, computer and printer, then some card and laminating materials or sticky back plastic, all of which can be picked up at a craft or office supply store. Kids can do whatever fun pose they want for this and mum will love it!

Burst of Butterflies Art, great as a gift

Burst of Butterflies Home Art

This great piece of handmade art can be found on a blog called Jaderbomb. It looks so beautiful and as if it should be difficult to recreate but it really isn't you just need card, a butterfly punch, backing material, glue and some time! She gives great instructions on how to create this step by step and I think the end result is beautiful. This could be done in just one colour in different shades or multicoloured like the picture, plus you could do it in other shapes instead of the burst on this one (maybe in a heart formation?)

Refrigerator Clothes Peg Magnets

Clothes Peg Magnets

Ok this isn't really a Mothers Day specific craft but Mum always needs to leave notes on the fridge now she can do it in style! She will love a set of these hand decorated fridge magnet pegs and you can find out how to make them on Home Made Gifts Made Easy. They are super easy and cheap to make, and can be done with a number of different materials in any pattern or colour you can find, so you can personalise them to your mums tastes.

What great ideas! I have done some of them in the past but some of them are new ideas to me. I LOVE the photo bookmarks! I have black and white silhouettes of all three of my kids but I really like the colorful ones too. I am bookmarking this hub and I will do some of these with my preschoolers for them to give their mother's for mother's day. I might even try to adapt some of them for easter gifts. Voted up, useful and shared!
