Although many infants don't understand what Halloween is about, it doesn't mean they don't need to dress up in a cute costume. Infants already melt most any heart so it is no wonder why even people passing by can't help but to smile. There are hundreds of cute costumes out there, but these are some of the cutest costume ideas for infants that are surely going to make the entire town take notice.

Jack-o-Lantern

Halloween just wouldn't be the same without jack-o-lanterns. Turn you little pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern this Halloween. This is one of the most common infant costumes that span the test of time. There are several costumes that you can purchase for your infant or you can choose to make a costume for your infant with this sewing pattern from Simplicity or McCalls.

Peas in a Pod

This is another popular costume that never seems to go out of style for infants. Most costume shops carry this costume. There is even a sewing pattern if you would prefer to make your baby's costume.

When choosing a costume for your infant, make sure that the costume follows safety standards and doesn't have any choke hazards. Another added safety measure is to be sure that the costume is flame retardant. Also keep in mind that babies are sensitive to their environment so face painting is not necessarily a good idea because it can cause red splotches and rashes.

Comfort ability is also important when it comes to making the night enjoyable. Although a costume may look adorable, it may not be so comfortable for the infant, thus causing him or her to be fussy and irritable. So consider the needs of your child as well as the cute factor when choosing a costume that is best for your infant.
