Laura makes ASCII art, using MS Notepad. (Since 1998). She is currently exploring adding colour to the plain text to make postcards.

I am Canadian.

I've been collecting (more like hoarding) any Canadian ASCII art I have found since I first wandered into the ASCII Art newsgroup more than ten years ago. I've created a Canadian flag of my own. Mine is small but I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Canada Day was still called Dominion Day (officially) until 1982. People began referring to the holiday as Canada Day long before the official change. I do remember hearing Dominion Day when I was a kid in the 1960s and 1970s. Dominion Day refers back to the history of our country. There used to be other businesses and functions which kept Dominion as part of their name. There are almost none who still do this.

Canada Day is July 1st.

Happy Canada Day!
